Don't run production on $7/year, it is for idling, not to lose millions

I mean there's a lot of great providers here but I don't know about running production services on a $7/yr VPS.

I won't be running multiple million dollar services on theses server, i will be only running normal services like wordpress, database etc etc , with proper backups in place,

I'm asking because I just want some name of provider with whom I can go without any doubt, and trusted by LET community so that I don't select completely wrong provider like charity host etc or maybe massivegrid which I can see alot of complaint here in LET about there downtime

    My personal recommendations of hosts I'm currently using: @host_c , @kuroit @ManishPant , @sh97 @crunchbits , @SilverCreek , @DeluxHost

I dont think any of them have current promos running except for @DeluxHost :

  • all the providers in my signature are great, but I'm not sure if any are running deadpool deals right now.

@AlexBarakov amongst the best VMs I ever got

    like €7/yr

all the providers in my signature I've been personally using for over a year at least :)
some of them have close to deadpool deals available, but €7/yr is usually not going to being you a rock solid vm for several years.

@alwyzon is also great and they run promos from time to time, I haven't experienced a single outage for over 2 years.

Looks good, i will give it a try,

and I have also seen few of the Provider also have started asking for id verification etc if we pay by debit card, I'm not running any illegal services but still it feels too much to do id verification when we are running normal services and testing stuff ,

any recommendations of top providers where I can pay by debit card without verification etc ?

Those are mostly US companies, some EU companies started but not deluxhost. I Think Host-c started asking for KYC recently (i may be wrong)

If any company says give me your ID just say no and ask for a refund and find another company. Don't give any company your ID

    I see, something like this:

  • It's LET :D post a thread about what specs/use case you're looking for, and providers will get back to you. Most of them offer similar quality services. It comes down to more specific things, like location, jurisdiction, price point, market niche, etc.

Unless others are screaming warnings about a provider, as long as you're not using these servers for production, you're pretty much safe to go.

(Side note, I do host some websites and stuff on LET providers...no issues yet).

Yes refund is an option, but still it's kind of irritating, even major cloud providers like AWS , azure, etc don't ask for id verification, atleast didn't asked me yet

If your focus in production is mainly on keeping the network running, not on having a powerful server, go with Layer7 or RoyaleHosting. Otherwise, try Computebox.

Though not perfect, many top providers have the "Top Host" title next to their account names, such as @crunchbits @hosthatch @host_c @Francisco . But since that's usually assigned by a community survey (I think?), there are many other good providers that may not have that title that still provide excellent services ( @MikeA @labze come to mind). An (also imperfect) litmus test is to see how active their sales threads are. The more non-spammy posts there are, the more respected the provider is by the community.

It's hit or miss, I have found gem providers that don't necessarily have the biggest marketing footprint, and I have found deadpools that seemed to have spent more on marketing than on their services. You kind of have to look around and do your own research.

HostHatch has flash sales in a couple of days that get somewhat close to deadpool deals. Maybe the OP can look out for that?

Most don't do KYC as long as you aren't using VPN and provide legitimate info. Some providers won't do KYC if you pay with Crypto.

    Exactly.

@AlexBarakov (AlphaVPS), @MikeA (ExtraVM), @aveline (Misaka), @Hybula (Hybula), @Clouvider (Clouvider) and @LiteServer (LiteServer), just to name a few, solid choices, but don't expect to get $7/year deals.

Exactly, i don't want any crazy Powerfull servers i just want it should have good uptime and decent performance that's it

  • I judge it by their willingness and ability to communicate at all and transparency. if they put their real name behind their work, they're probably doing this in their best interest. if they're flexible around their offerings and can work out custom solutions even mildly, that often to me says they know what they're doing and don't have to strictly follow templates.

I don't trust a thing where I can't easily find the person or people who stand behind the product
