NYC is not yet in production — it’s currently in preview while we finish refining prefix handling on the backbone. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be adding additional eBGP peers and exchanges. As with our other sites, traffic will always prefer local eBGP peers, avoiding unnecessary detours (e.g., sending East Coast traffic through LA before NYC).
Primary testing at the moment is focused on FiberState AS26042 backbone latency.
Example: NYC → Los Angeles
Example: SLC → NYC
As the network grows, our focus is on ensuring low-latency, high-capacity transport between FiberState PoPs. This enables customers to run multiple services with predictable performance, including:
We'll have an official announcement once the NYC location is live.

Made a few corrections here @bgeorge. Please advise if you are still seeing Comcast prefer the LA->NYC route. Global latency tests seem to be corrected from our testing to NYC now.
New York City, NY 0ms 0% loss
Ashburn, VA 5ms 0% loss
Atlanta, GA 16ms 0% loss
Boston, MA 5ms 0% loss
Charlotte, NC 13ms 0% loss
Chicago, IL 16ms 0% loss
East coast traffic remains local
Test from India - West <> East will enter in LA<>SLC<>NYC and use the cross country backbone
