Need Advice: Refund or Wait? (HostSlick)
Hello everyone,
I need some suggestions on what to do.
On April 5th, I placed an order for a new server from HostSlick.
They promised to deliver the server within 14 days.
Today is April 27th, and I still haven’t received the server. 😓
At that time, my existing (old) server was active and still had 20 days of validity left.
HostSlick promised to deliver the new server within 14 days, so I planned to migrate everything smoothly before the old server expired.
But now my old server has been suspended!
I have opened a ticket requesting a refund from HostSlick, but it’s been 16 hours without any reply.
Now I am stuck between two options
Request a refund and buy a server from another provider to continue my work.
Keep waiting for HostSlick, hoping they eventually deliver (even though they already broke their initial promise).
🔥 Current Situation:
HostSlick has not delivered the server yet.
No response to my refund request ticket.
Old server is suspended, and I urgently need a working server.
👉 What do you guys think is the best move for me?
Should I push for a refund or keep waiting?
Please share your opinion, I really need advice! 🙏

@HostSlick
Any specific reason your old server got suspended 20 days before expiration?
Is there a main reason you waiting on Hostslick? There are many companies that can offer you the same service with immediate activations. You have LET Providers: Advinservers, Interserver, Datawagon, V6node, and many more that can offer you what you're looking for without waiting!
We also have locations in the USA, London, and Frankfurt.
No reply on ticket or lowendtalk massage.

Hi,
basically very easy:
the only question is, if you still have trust in their work.
Yes or No.
If you think they are doing a good job, worth your money and loyalty, then wait.
If not, then not.
I renewed my old server and told them through a ticket that I don't need the server anymore and want a refund.
If I were you, I would not wait unless some compensation is offered.
As many netizens have mentioned, there are better options elsewhere.
If the servers are used for actual work I would definitely get a refund and buy from another more reliable provider
It Sounds like a easy decision. I would choose Option 1, stay at current provider and wait till refund that was already requested before this thread is processed. As refund is requested there is no Delivery to do for us anymore but instead refund. Otherwise would have delivered Monday. Have 10 of this dl380s racked and hdds are incoming then.
get a refund and buy from more reliable company!
We have immediate activations for prebuilt Configs in Stock.

excellent offer, I would wait 2-3weeks for such custom builds.
@HostSlick were you guys that lazy to not tell the client on Day 14 that the server will take a little longer so they could be better informed to wait rather than refund, and maybe could have paid for the invoice of the current server and got part of it credited to the new server during the time they both overlap?
There’s better ways to have handled this, although I agree the OP put too much faith in this than they should have.
This reminds me of the HostHatch fiasco last Black Friday, also due to poor communication.
What makes this an 'excellent offer'? Stone age hardware, average price, and you still have to wait...
HostSlick had promised to deliver the new server within 14 days. Based on that commitment, I planned a smooth migration before the old server expired.
However, it has now been 22 days, and the new server has still not been delivered.
Meanwhile, our current server holds around 48TB of streaming files, and it has been offline for the past 14–15 hours For overdue,
During this time, HostSlick has not responded to my support tickets either.
You can imagine the kind of mental stress and frustration I am going through under these circumstances.
If the server had actual valuable content to you, why don’t you keep backups? Even if it’s 48 TB, that’s still one point of failure.
And the server being suspended is technically your doing for neglecting the invoice. Even if HostSlick was late to deliver, you’re still contractually obligated to the original server terms. Paying the invoice to keep the server online was the right thing, and then later you can argue with HostSlick on whether it can be prorated to the new server.
Part of this is self-inflicted on your part, sorry. But if HostSlick is unreliable then maybe you are better off finding a more reliable provider. There have been some grumbling about them in another thread.
That is quit sad. They should have updated you.
whether or not hostslick is in the wrong for the delay, he is not responsible for your 48TB.
The part I don’t get it is, why OP didn’t renew it at the last day of invoice? Like you thought you could move away data when your server was about to suspended?
@HostSlick did you told the customer that his order will be delivered late? Considering ETA was 14 days.
If they didn't update you that the delivery date changed, clearly they don't care much about your $ so find a more reliable and communicative provider. Unless the deal is so good you can't find it anywhere else, then you deal with "issues".
Anyway you already started refund process, so topic question seems odd.
Deadlines are flexible for Hostslick, that is normal.
That's pretty good deal you got grom hoststslick. I would wait.
@sujeet Damn you must be really down bad if you picked Hostslick. Its normal to multiple their delivery ETAs by 4x.
@sujeet forget the delayed server, pay the renewal invoice, get your 48 TB back, and then figure out in the next 30 days what your next steps are. Whether it be stick with HostSlick or move to another provider.
But the dumbest thing you did was letting your current server expire. That was the most foolish gamble you took if you cared at all whatsoever about the data on that server.
And start developing a backup plan so you’re not one failure point away from losing absolutely everything.
I don't think he ever mentioned lack of backup or that he needs that data? Maybe data is on the backup server (like idk, some S3 bucket), but releasing it to public is too costly - transfer costs [if S3] / transfer limit [if backup] / DMCA [cough] so he will one time restore it to NEW server that he really needs and HostSlick just fucked it up for him.
Plus we don't know what billing period is with the old provider - if that one is for example yearly he could be out of budget :-)
If your current provider don't hate you just talk with them (except it's Sunday
) and maybe ask for idk a paid extension for a week?

thats a good deal worth waiting imho
Yes we have backup,
Hostslick are one of the worst providers i ever deal with.
Their vps are down almost daily
The vps control panel on
https://cloud.hostslick.com:4083/
Never worked
If you contact them they will respond after 7 days asking questions and you will expect response after another 7 days
How do you know the OP doesn't backup? It's easy to say something like if all customers really matter to a provider, why don't that provider ? Never mind.
@nohavps can do this with Instant Delivery i heard
