HilarityHost Trustpilot Development

Long story short, some dude left critical feedback on CH's Trustpilot.
https://www.trustpilot.com/review/charityhost.org
CH replied,
"Sorry you feel that way. But if are a customer you would actually know the great support and quality services we offer. We respect customers and expect the same in return, not insults, derision and berating, it's AUP violations and it is clear. We do not tolerate that type of belligerence and insults.
Thank you for understanding"
So basically, they're insinuating that the guy who left the review isn't a customer.
But uh oh. If you hover over the "Verified" tag next to his name, you'll see that the reviewer was "automatically invited to write a review following their experience with the company."
To be clear about how Trustpilot works, some reviews are "Verified" because the person's account has been verified with an ID. Other reviews, like this one, are "Verified" because they were sent a request for review by the provider. In other words, this reviewer is 100% a CH customer.
Why can't CH just admit that they screwed up? Why resort to name-calling, theatrics, and now, insisting that any customer who is critical of the company must not really be a customer at all?
Also note the passive aggression. "Sorry YOU feel that way," as if this guy isn't saying what dozens of others also feel for a very justified reason.

LET drama is weird.
It's like a movie series with plots, several antagonists, some controversial actions and even serious accusations.
But instead of actors we play with real people and their registered hosting companies.
Just a thought, not complaining.
Thread title should have used Clownity
And sometimes, the drama starts because those real people and their registered hosting companies play with us
Hey, at least clowns are funny
I'm sorta fond of Chastity hosting. Since after all this all started over some poor guy trying to let some pressure off.
@yoursunny

@CharityHost_org flagged all the bad reviews
Just report them to trust pilot. abusing the flagging system is against trust pilot policy.
So they’re just flagging all negative reviews randomly? I didn’t know a host could do that to cheat TrustPilot.
I don’t use trustpilot so for others. How do you report?
https://help.trustpilot.com/s/contact-us?language=en_US
Scroll down to Whistleblower and continue
In the sectoin "What do you want to raise with us?"
Select "A business is abusing the flagging function"
im going to send trustpilot an email, or il try via their live chat (i think they have one)
@admins: How much do we/I need to pay to get this crybaby banned & tag removed?
I don’t think it works that way, nor should they allow people to ban off competitors with cash payments…
i think this is a good exception
Ik bro, jk. It's impressive that this crybaby still not getting banned.
lowendtalk gotta pay the server bills somehow lmao
Mr. @jbiloh, sir?
Corruption detected.
initial review
Internet Archive - CharityHost on TrustPilot has our initial review.
Note that we did not talk about how they treated their customers, as it's not our direct experience.
Instead, we only talked about how they treated us on this forum.
not an actual charity, calls everyone a troll
Despite the name, this hosting provider is not an actual charity.
Moreover, they cannot take criticism honestly. When someone gives them negative feedback on hosting forums, they would disregard the criticism, but instead belittle the commenter and call them "trolls".
We do not recommend doing any business with CharityHost.org. If you are a non-profit receiving sponsorship from them, you should leave asap to not associate your image with their bad reputation.
@CharityHost_org reply:
Sorry you feel this way. We do not disregard criticism and address all questions with answers. However, we noticed that those forums are full of bad actors, abusers, and bad members, perhaps bad bots, they may come off like trolls because they use foul language and insult others while attacking them.

updated review
Following the assessment, we have removed all "defamatory" text, and updated the review as below.
Note that we are quoting what they wrote in their response.
not an actual charity, takes negative feedback as attacks
Despite the name, this hosting provider is not an actual charity, but is registered as a for-profit company.
Whenever someone gives negative feedback to them on hosting forums, they refuse to acknowledge mentioned issues, but instead call these forum members as "bad actors" and "bots", and considers the feedbacks as "attacks".
Btw if the person who left > @yoursunny said:
Fingers crossed that this works.
Second edition is published and almost instantly flagged.
AI hasn't given suggestions on which sentences to remove.
Meanwhile, we have reported flagging abuse via whistleblower form.
Flagged automatically, or by the owner?
@CharityHost_org has made a bunch of fake accounts posting reviews with only 1 review each or buying reviews. They are also spamming to remove all creditable reviews under 1 star.
This is sad. Charityhost is a sham. Fake. Fraud. Buying reviews from BHW probably. Or making their own fake accounts from rented IPs.
I flagged many.. others should too. Obviously fake.
CH is back online on LET, so it makes sense that it's him. Sigh.
I think he might be offering customers freebies (like an extra core or gigabyte of ram) in exchange for good trustpilot reviews. Some of the recent ones seem to be from actual people (one reviewed kuroit and massive grid, while another reviewed hosthatch too)
8 (probably) fake accounts with only one review and made within the past few hours or days.

I ruled that these are probably real people
See my comment above. Sure, some are probably legit. But how can we meaningfully distinguish the new customers being incentivized to post good reviews, versus astroturfing? A lot of the accounts have no review history of any kind, and CH replies to them...rather quickly.
You can't, and it doesn't matter, the same stuff happens here on LET and other hosting websites.
@CharityHost_org, why are you messaging your own customers and asking them for 5-star Trustpilot reviews in exchange for extended time on their current VPS?
Great question. I got proof in this screenshot from a DM.
Edit: He explicitly asks for "the url to your 5 star review." Meaning that any customer with a less-than-perfect review isn't eligible for the benefits. Seems rather contrary to his opening line about "honest feedback," no?

Does this cross into the boundary of "if you are found to be misleading customers" per section 4 of Miscellaneous Rules?
