Looking for an affordable VPS provider in Russia

Hey,

Looking for a Russian VPS due to external API service geo location blocks. Anything with 1-2 CPU and 2-4 GB memory, the cheaper the better. Since main tasks will be external API requests, uptime is a priority over performance.

Thanks!

I'd also much appreciate if you could ping website av.by. Maybe it's not blocked from any other country or provider.

All Looking Glass from Location Page have 100% packet loss to the av.by website

Every provider on this site mtr.tools cannot ping that website.
    https://mtr.tools/global

    They probably blocked ping.

Indeed looks like it. Any idea how to test it's availability? I've used fetch request from a VPS in Russia and it worked. Dunno a way to test it without ordering a VPS :/

Not sure what's that website. Unable to load it from my home internet. Worked briefly in one Tor circuit.
On Avenacloud's Moldovan VPS it loads fine.

Some provider here, Hostiko @hostiko (Poland and Ukraine) and Rustelekom (RU) @rustelekom will work. Based on https://check-host.net/check-http?host=https://Av.by

For reliable API access from Russia, providers like Selectel, Timeweb, or FirstVDS offer stable uptime, which is key for your use case. Go for the most affordable plan with strong network reliability.

FirstByte.ru is stable also is way less censored than other providers.

I can't really command anything else, I just keep them because old deals and they are cheap as fuck but partially heavily censored.

Justhost, I would not recommend them, last time they accused me of being chinese.
Idk the fuck is going on with this provider.

4vps.su meh, the promos are always oversold...

I've have good experience with vdsina[.]ru , although they might not fit "cheap" anymore.

    Hi!

We have a VPS in Moscow and even the most minimal S1 package will suit your specifications.

    1 core
    2GB of RAM
    30GB SSD
    2TB 1 Gbps
The price is 5 EUR per month (there will be a discount if you take it immediately for a year)

You can find more packages and information here. - https://mivocloud.com/ssd-kvm-vps

https://time-host.net, an old player and great people. Been using them for over 2 years with like 2 outages in total.

Also, any provider under AS212165 is rock solid (this includes https://kvmka.ru, https://deephost.pw, https://cloudx.ru, ...)

https://4vps.su also has quite cheap VMs with their promo plans. They were kinda oversold, like a lot, but for me, they've been fine for a while (both Novosibirsk and Kemerovo). Although I would still recommend you choosing Kemerovo because they have Ryzen 9 7950X CPUs there (if you get unlucky, you end up in a 9 5950X or 9 3900 node tho, but last time I checked they only had 2 of those nodes and a few more of the 7950X)

    https://ztv.su/store/vps-kvm-nvme-v-rf too

But if you really want to stay on the safer side, go with big players like Selectel. I haven't experienced a single outage with Selectel ever.

That website you mentioned seems to do simple GeoIP blocking, nothing too fancy, so the above-mentioned providers work (https://globalping.io/?measurement=mi3mwBmz78GYPPHr)

I have vps from LandVPS and i tried with vpn to open that site and works. Ping is 12s from vps to site given with mtr -T. Simple mtr and ping is not working probably site blocks it.
In the past i had used firstbyte and ihor never had problems with them also.

Just tried from a ihor VPS and pinging av.by failed; last responding hop was 93.125.20.189 (a major belarussian provider it seems, AS60330).

FWIW If I wanted a super-cheap (well for Russia) VPS I'd look at FirstByte, and if I wanted a good VPS I'd look at VDSina. I did benchmark (and had quite few VPS) of russian providers.

ICMP is dropped, you have to make an HTTPS request.
    But ihor seems blocked yea

Thank you guys for suggestions, tools and tests!

Personally, I've only used adminvps.ru for a month. It worked great and support was quick to tweak hostname. During the month I also found LET forum with epic special deals and wanted to switch for something cheaper or with better specs for the price.

I've checked the suggestions and links, found out the website is reachable from a few locations outside Russia and got a working Germany deal with triple the specs for the same price 🥳

    LET rocks!
