Where was the location for transaction #2?

  • Not sure if it works anymore but you could rotate your Windows PC display with Ctrl+Alt+Arrow (down arrow for upside down display). I set all the displays in a row of the school computer lab to upside down and watched as people couldn't figure out what was wrong.

I have also interchanges the mouse and keyboard so the keyboard/mouse in front was actually connected to another PC, that was fun too.

One year, a guy convinced his roommate that he’d won a million dollars in the lottery. He printed a fake ticket, left it on the table, and waited. His roommate freaked out, quit his job over the phone, and started planning a world trip—only to find out an hour later it was an April Fools’ prank. Total chaos, but they’re still friends!

Love the theme, nice one @PureVoltage

You know you are old school when you remember playing Oregon Trail in school and 5.25 inch "floppy disks."

    Yes!
It's also crazy as I sometimes drive by the end of the Oregon trail.

“The fragmented Linux community has unanimously agreed to adopt a single universal packaging system, putting an end to the decades-long packaging wars that have plagued the open-source ecosystem.”

  • Okay, so listen up mates—this is the most bonkers April Fools' stunt my mates and I ever pulled off. Picture this: we're living in this sleepy Swiss village near the Alps, right? Three days before April 1st, my crazy buddy Lars gets his hands on a military-grade projector from God knows where.

Here's the plan: we project a giant UFO hologram over the town church steeple at midnight. But wait, it gets better! We dressed up in silver morphsuits, strapped leaf blowers to our backs as "anti-gravity packs," and ran through the streets screaming in fake alien language. Oh, and we smeared glow-in-the-dark paint on a herd of Farmer Jürgen's sheep to make 'em look like "alien livestock."

The absolute cherry on top? We hacked the local radio station to play this eerie transmission: "ZORBLACK-7 TO MOTHERSHIP—HUMANS TASTE LIKE STRUDEL. INITIATE DEEP-FRY PROBE PROTOCOL."

By 1 AM, the mayor was ready to call NATO! The whole village lost their schnitzels—old ladies were throwing bratwursts at us like edible torpedoes! Next morning we revealed the prank with a banner that said "APRIL KRISTALLNACHT!" over the bakery.

Best part? The UFO footage made it onto German TV as "real alien activity" for a solid week. Police still give us the stink-eye at beer festivals. Totally worth losing our €500 security deposit for the projector!

  • One time I made my whole dev team think our production database got completely wiped. I faked an error in our monitoring tool, even set up a fake emergency call with a “recovery specialist.” My manager was this close to calling the CTO when I finally cracked and yelled “April Fools!” Everyone went from panic to laughter real quick… though I did get officially banned from ever pranking anything database-related again. Worth it.

A group of our friends went to another friend's house. We were sitting in his guest room when he said he lost his 1TB SD card somewhere in there. He told us whoever found it could keep it, then said, "I'll be back after making coffee for all of us." So, we spent like 30-45 minutes searching, under the sofa, behind the curtains, even checking small details like table corners.
Guess what? He came back after 30-45 minutes and asked, "What are you guys looking for?"
We said, "The SD card you lost."
He looked confused and said, "What card?"
We were shocked. Then he laughed and went, "Oh, that… April Fools!", "I just went to buy coffee beans from the nearby mart. Just wanted you guys to not be bored. Haha!"

Maybe not super "crazy," but effective! I once put clear tape over the sensor on the bottom of my family's TV remote controls. Watching them frantically changing batteries and banging the remotes, getting increasingly frustrated... priceless! I let it go on for about 10 minutes before revealing the simple trick. Sometimes the easiest pranks are the best! Fingers crossed!
