I recently found this deal, still available to grab a .link domain name thru Wordpress.com and Gravatar.com
How it works
All users have the ability to set a custom “slug” for their profile URLs, which means you can send people to something that looks like this:gravatar.com/yourusername
While that’s a great start, many users, brands, and businesses like using their own domain. That means that the link you share on your profiles, email signatures, business cards, etc. will look more like this:

I believe they are available to transfer out after a short period of time. Renew at $9/yr.
Some might not like those free services comes with tracking and such, me either, but save $9 for the first year isn't that bad.
This service I found interesting for those low-tech but need exposure their online branding.

Thanks for sharing, although I don't use it. For individual users, it is a good saving. However for businesses $ 2.07/yr on Spaceship and $ 4.48/yr on Namecheap for the first year will be better.
Should I idle the domain or save that $9 renewal for a $7 and a $3 with an extra $1?

.linkfor $3.99 on NameSilo. I still don't understand pricing scheme of these newer gTLD. Always on sale then the price jacks up.Tbh letting go of a domain is harder compared to servers or fungible infrastructure.
The more reliable ones are still the well-known domain extensions and some high-quality country code domain extensions.

I think you could transfer out after a short time. I'm not really sure, but are going to try transfer out when it reach expiration date.

Just tried it out, it seems like you can only use it for your gravatar page and email forwarding for free. But, you can transfer it out for cheap after 60 days https://tldes.com/link
