Seems like mine are a bit better. I wonder how many people are running yabs on these nodes...

These are one of the older ones (got it on January) so maybe the node itself is full (assuming netcup fills each node before moving on to the next). Considering this is their VPS lineup and not the RS, I can live with the CPU performance, but the random IO could improve (the machin itself was idling until now though lol)

No. FAQ states they have it disabled cuz of security reasons. whatever that means.

it means because of sicherheitsrisiken aka security reasons. :)

They took a fortnight to reply to my question regarding the same but apart from that netcup is just pure luv :)

    Hello,
    thank you for your Request.

In our experience, nested virtualization via the SVM flag can lead to technical problems at processor level.
As the servers we rent out are fully virtualized, such problems affect all customers on the same node equally.
For this reason, as well as for security reasons, we can no longer offer you the activation of the SVM flag for any of our products.

    Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
    netcup Team

I remember reading something about their custom kernel and live migration not chugging along with nested virt on their forum. But that was also just a speculation.

With rootservers you get dedicated cores
