Provider like Layer7 but in The Netherlands or the Nordics
I really like Layer7 but unfortunately I am having problems with providers in Germany from my Gigabit connection in Finland and my ISP isn’t helping. Speeds in the Nordics are great, but I also tried Netcup servers in Amsterdam and the speed is great too, so it seems to be a problem with mainly Germany and France. Is there any good alternative to Netcup with servers in Amsterdam or the Nordics?
Something like Layer7 would be awesome.
At the moment I need two VPS, both with 4 cores and 8GB of ram but the first one with 200 GB storage and the other with 1 TB of storage. Preferably no spinning disks and also the storage must be expandable.
Any suggestions?

@gigahost but might be a bit expensive
their network is prem
Expensive and their storage is limited
could you be a bit more specific about what you're looking for?
we offer EPYC VPS in Amsterdam using NVMe block storage so it is easy to scale.
Maybe check https://nonic.cloud
inleed.com
Using Layer7 as reference, I paid 11.99/mo for a 4 cores, 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of NVME storage. I checked your pricing but the max storage was 320 GB and prices were quite a bit higher.
Seem max storage is 400 GB.
Looks interesting, I wish they had a plan with less ram and more storage.
@layer7 has some great deals and are a pleasure to deal with. It’s not a given that the same is available elsewhere. 🤷♂️

I really like Layer7, the problem is with my ISP so I am looking for alternatives BUT there is a but. I tried upgrading the firmware of my router just in case, then created a new server in Layer7 since I still had credit, and now I am uploading at 60 MB/sec for the first time! Could this have fixed the issue? I hope so. I am running a script now to periodically transfer a large file and log the average transfer speed.
that's prebuilt plans, you can customise the specs to suit your needs
we use block storage (rather than local disks), which means you can scale your resources as your needs grow. The limit shown in the UI is mainly there because most customers don't require more than that.
anw, we're not able to match the $11.99/mo price point given those specs. I'm sure other providers here can offer you something.
Then check on https://netcup.com , once you ordered a server you can purchase additional storage space for 0,025€/GB
talk to the guys from inleed. maybe then can help you.
If only the Internet were built in a way where we could route our traffic to its destination through a separate server, like a tunnel going through a mountain. A bit like a private network... a virtual one..
Why not netcup in Amsterdam as it works for you.
Did you try host-c? It's outside your requirement but I would suggest trying it honestly.
Hetzner?
Why not netcup?
@Chunkserve any stock left of your last deals?
@SilverCreek
I think @RoyaleHosting and @heartbeat_IT are both solid.
v6node?
To be honest Netcup is indeed working great, I am just worried about support because I've read of too many people saying that tickets with them often go unanswered for weeks
In the meantime the transfer speed monitoring I have in place with Layer7 seems to suggest that the problem I had is gone, so I still have that option (which was my favorite). I will keep it running for a while still today and in the meantime take a look at the other providers mentioned here. Thanks all!
I say this will all best intentions, but you seem to be able to migrate in about no time, so if you're that unlucky, maybe just migrate? I've had decent experience with their support for what it's worth.
It seems to be you're overthinking hosting on repeat with time you could have spent chasing bugs, I imagine even a 100 EUR server would be a decent option for you if that means you can spend all these hours hacking instead, as you seem great at it.
Sorry, it's just from an outsider point of view you could do so much with this time you spend researching providers and changing because of small things. No provider will be literally perfect.
Yeah I have automation so migrating is quick and easy. With Netcup the thing is that I contacted them recently with a simple question on converting and individual account to a company account, and I am still waiting. You raise valid points, but I likely don't spend as much time with these things as you think
Good luck getting those rewards!
