Got third VPS with Layer7.net. So glad I found this provider!

Seriously, I love it. I needed a third VPS for some tasks that required 1 TB of storage, and I love that with @layer7 I can use fast NVME/SSD storage instead of spinning drives, for a very good price. Performance of the servers in general has been excellent so far. I have only been a customer for a week literally but I have rarely had so good first impression when trying a provider for the first time.

I have three servers with them so far (for Nextcloud, Immich and other apps) and everything is running so smoothly and with nice performance.

Thanks to all those who wrote reviews about them because without them I wouldn't have gotten to try this provider. :)

    6 days ago, yes. I am very likely going to migrate more stuff from Hetzner and others since the price/spec of Layer7 is awesome. I am only gonna keep a bunch of servers I have paid for yearly with GreenCloud VPS. Those are the budget KVM servers, very cheap and decent enough for small things. But for anything else now I really like Layer7.

    :D yep! Also why it's important to not always look for the cheapest.

    Except of course for HostCock.Com and CockHost.Com, we are not a summer host. <3

    Hi,

    i am very happy if things work out the way you like it.

    But if you continue to talk that good about us, murphy is going to find us and do what muphy does best ;-;

    So maybe better, always include a "but" or a "could be better if" or what ever... in worst case come up with a creative idea of saying something bad about us, so murphy might have some mercy ^^;

    ( Of course i just jinxed it now and all routers will just burn down on sunday night... )

    No idea what you on about but found this on their own website for cloud server and it looks average at best. Especially the disk.

    The disk speeds are exactly matching those advertised on their website, and they are very consistent in my experience, so one knows what to expect, and the speeds are enough for many (most?) use-cases IMHO.

    Agreed but for €6 a month you can do better. Maybe I don’t know the exact specs for those €6 yet so I’ll take back my criticism.

    Though you get 4 cores, 8 GB RAM (or 16 GB for just 1€ per month more), 120 GB NVMe and 50 TB traffic for the 5.99€, so it's still pretty cheap IMHO.
    But if you need/want high disk speeds, there probably are better choices, yes.

    Hi,

    just as mentioned in the offers, there is a limitation on the disk speed.

    The bad thing on it is obvious... its a limit.

    The good thing is, its guaranteed. So you are not depending on the other customers / VM's that, depending on what they do, might suck away your IO performance.

    We want to give a specific amount of IO speed that will be enough for most use cases and make sure its an reliable amount that will be there for you 24/7/365

    So you will usually not face situations where your application will sometimes run good and sometimes run bad, because of missing resources as they are taken away from others.

    Also you should consider, thats network storage - not local storage. For the fact that is network storage, these IO numbers, for this pricing, is actually quiet good.

    If a customer need/want more, we can offer more on a custom plan. But that will be significantly more expensive. So people who need more usually decide for local storages. Much easier / cheaper to offer there higher IO limits.

  • I think I'm going to fall in love (with Layer7) if bro keep posting reviews like this :D
