LET is the place for many things in one. This is its attraction. Splitting breaks down this attraction. That bad idea was inspired by one wrong post about "spam". LET for what? Less offers, giveaways and other interesting things more boring and abandoning. Look at LEB, is it attractive? Would you like to convert LET to a desert?

No Transparency. LET provides a transparency of a giveaway process, provider-made systems - not. A transparency is an important feature.
LET gives an opportunity to see who are users and winners took part in a giveaway and I can trust to a result of a giveaway.

They want to take a personal info for a giveaway. You need to register and fill in the billing form: a name, address, etc. You can't enter to a giveaway without that. I need to give my username only if a giveaway is on LET but why am I forced to give more for the participation only without purchasing outside LET? I don't want to expose my info everywhere!

Maybe they collect users info for selling.

@DartNode said: easier to enter and track

    More complicated!

    Other negative features.

I love LET in the current condition not a desert!

We have you create a customer account so we can attach the service if you win

You can view our Privacy Policy here:
    https://dartnode.com/legal/privacy

We never sell information or data, and our customers privacy is the most important

We did move to our own system because of the fear of our post getting locked and taken down without warning or notice, as it happened to many others recently. We may move back to our old system once LET notifies us and the community of the direction they’re taking.

We want to keep doing our monthly give-a-way, since everyone is always so excited by it

An account may be created later if a user win.

    Sounds good!

The fear??? One person posted thread about his wish. It's his private opinion. It's not a community trend or LET rule. It's against the forum nature.

We want to keep doing our monthly give-a-way, since everyone is always so excited by it

    Come back to LET!

    DartNode's giveaway system like Hell!

Why do we need to enter every 24h instead of once a month as on LET? This is a flood which DartNode would like to get rid of as stated. There is no rule, no transparency.

You don't need to enter every 24h. But you can get additional entries. I'm sorry you're having heartburn with the system, it's not a decision we took lightly.

We reached out to LET staff when that thread was gaining momentum and provider threads were being taken down. We asked whether we could continue our giveaways until formal rule changes were made and even proposed less "spammy" methods to drive engagement. However, in the response we received, we were not given explicit permission to continue hosting the giveaways on LET, nor did we receive clear guidance on how we could proceed.

Ultimately, we consider LET a digital home for DartNode and genuinely love being part of the community. However, we also want to be respectful of both the staff and the users of the site. We would be more than happy to continue running giveaways on LET if allowed. If our giveaway authorization is reinstated by LET staff, we'd gladly host a giveaway on LET in addition to our website.

For about a year, our monthly LET giveaway has been an extension of our "Give Back" program—our way of contributing something to the IT community. While the additional visibility for our offer threads was a benefit, it was never our primary motivator. Our goal has always been to give back and stay engaged with the community we appreciate.

At this point, the decision is out of our hands, and the ball is in LET staff’s court. With moderators removing threads and our giveaway authorization not renewed, this was the only path forward we saw.

We’ve loved seeing all the activity and engagement—your GIFs, memes, and funny comments brought us many smiles and made our team feel even more connected to the LET community. We hope to continue that in the future, one way or another!

Hope that provides some clarity, and inspires clear communication and decision making from the LET staff.

So what you mean is, you said LET that you will create a post and create a giveaway between the people that Liked your post. And they said no to that?

I understand that they don’t want 100s of spammy posts saying “I kiss @DartNode’s butt for free server” but if you just make giveaway between people Thanked a specific post I doubt anyone would bat an eye.

But of course your thread wont stay at top because no one is repeatedly commenting on it. But that bound to happen anyway if people has to register on your website for giveaway but then you would be getting their PII, which in return some people not happy to share, at least not before being your customer officially.

Good feedback, I will get with @keoir and see if we can relax the PII for the giveaway. Thank you.

Didn't even think about the "Thanks" method. That could have worked, although slightly undermining the integrity of "thanks".

This community is great, please keep the good feedback coming.

  • I guess I won’t be receiving a reply regarding the server anytime soon..

  • I've been using Dartnode for a while and currently have 5 dedicated servers with them. Before they introduced IPMI, their full support was excellent. After the big update, now with IPMI available, server management has become even more convenient. Great service and reliable performance!

I totally understand, doing my own tiny business with minimal resources....

Please, if anyone here sees this, do me a favor....
This is very extremely ultra super urgent, everyone is dying. And yep, it probably won't take more than 2 minutes on your side.

Thanks & sorry for public posting.
