Hetzner Singapore – Solid, But Could Be Better?
Hey folks, just wanted to share my experience with Hetzner, especially their Singapore server. I was looking for a good, stable VPS in Asia, and after trying a bunch, this one has been the most reliable so far.
At $8 a month, it’s not the cheapest, but in terms of performance, I really can’t complain. The speed? A solid 1700 Mbps—way more than I actually need. I’ve tested other VPS providers where I barely got 50 Mbps, and some were just straight-up unstable.
The Good Stuff
Rock-Solid Stability – No weird downtimes, no random disconnects, just smooth sailing.
Great Speed – Consistently fast, unlike some VPS where speeds drop when you actually start using them.
Hourly Billing – This is a nice touch. Handy if you just need something short-term.
What I Didn’t Like
The 1TB Bandwidth Limit – This is my biggest gripe. For $8/month, at least 2TB or 3TB would’ve made sense.
Price Feels a Bit High – Sure, it’s stable and fast, but the bandwidth limit makes it feel overpriced compared to other options.
The Worst VPS I’ve Used?
If Hetzner is one of the best, then Serverpoint was by far the worst. Their speed graph said I was using all my allocated bandwidth, but in reality? Not even 10 Mbps. Absolute disaster.
Would love to hear your experiences—how has Hetzner been for you?

Traffic in Asia is not cheap.

@Hetzner_OL is known to have higher price, comparatively to other singapore providers. I don't like how they hide ST value despite the higher price tag.
If you looking for traffic VPS, you can try @yxvm, for the same price, you can get a richer network upstream blends. Personally I haven't try them.
It could be better if it was @onidel
Why is this really? Is it a super high challenge to add capacity?
My gameservers & players are happy with your service
But it could always be better
I really like Hetzner's dedicated servers; their ticket response speed is quite good. Although the network latency to my location is relatively high, it's generally very stable. Unfortunately, a dedicated server is still too much for my needs. When Hetzner's Singapore VPS was first launched, I tested it, and its performance seemed much better than their other regions. I tried it again a few days ago, and it seemed to have dropped a bit. I wonder how well their Singapore VPS is selling.
yeah cables in asia are under sea .. high installation and maintenance cost
And for some political reasons it is slow as hell some months.
if you have that kind of money, try advinservers
That's not why Hetzner is expensive. They simply target larger profit margin. Hetzner rent their Milan VPS at the cost higher than other providers' Ryzen.
If they don't oversell and run on premium networks, it might be a slightly justifiable but they do oversell and because they hide their ST value, you gotta do benchmark test to know if they oversell or not.
Their current network is also below average despite not being that generous about bandwidth for their more expensive plan. While they do have a blends, they don't really manage their routing via those blends well, it did be better for them to just get GSL and let GSL manage their connectivity.
