That's effectively a trial, clickbait title.

There is no looking glass in Japan

I’m puzzled—ping your Japan IP from a Linode Japan server results in a high latency of 100ms.

Seems only connected to the HE network. May re-route the traffic to the US.

  • Why do I need to upgrade to "higher plan" to get system less than 5 years old? Are you sane?
That's not a good practice. If you need to make artificial limits like this, it should be the other way (user has to pay more for legacy system).

It might be because of minimum ram recommendations....[I think maybe]

If you ordered a server in this location, your server and IP address will also be physically located in this location.

    Hello!

Thank you for the information provided.

If the ping to a server in Japan is 200ms, despite the server being physically located in Japan, this may be due to the peculiarities of the traffic routes used by your ISP, as well as network congestion. Sometimes data can pass through intermediate nodes in other countries, which increases latency.

We recommend running a traceroute to see at what point the latency increase occurs. This will help us diagnose the problem more accurately. Sometimes even small changes in the network can affect the response time.

If the problem continues to bother you, please contact our technical support and we will conduct a more detailed check to minimize the latency.

  • Yes, I'd be careful too! DMCA notices are taken into account there and not passed on in full—only the accusation but not the sender—and the web channel is blocked—that's unacceptable! vps location was russia!

Why not addressing it directly and not giving a generic answer to all complaints here...

  • Do Tokyo plan support rDNS (PTR)? Is SMTP port blocked? I want to use it to host my personal email (only me), so I don't need a VPS with high network speed or fast SSD, just need maximum uptime and stability.
