It's 3TB monthly bandwidth for only 1EUR/month price. I think it's a lot of BW.

We will provide the proof here as soon as this campaign ends. We have a contract with OneTreePlanted.org. Maybe you can check their website a bit and see that they are doing a great job.

About the datacenter, the guys from there told us that is located within a Tower in Lelystad (Amsterdam area).

About the datacenter, the guys from there told us that is located within a Tower in Lelystad (Amsterdam area).

    OK, explain this then:

Ping to your testIP 45.129.13.2 from 2 Amsterdam locations:
    rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 3.796/3.915/4.144/0.122 ms
    rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 3.978/3.996/4.014/0.013 ms

Ping to your testIP 45.129.13.2 from a host in Eygelshoven:
    rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.286/0.343/0.488/0.073 ms

The distance between Eygelshoven and Amsterdam (or somewhere in it's area) is about 200km, so basically, roundtrip, that distance alone would add 2ms and the 0.3 ms latency (including network stacks, routers, etc) would be physically impossible to be anywhere near Amsterdam.

It's not that I don't trust you in planting trees. It's more that I have mentioned that you are not in Amsterdam a couple of times and you didn't respond to that, instead you keep on saying that you are in Amsterdam. Either your TestIP is not a representation of the physical location you are in, or you are not in Amsterdam but in Eygelshoven. I think the latter is a more logical explanation (and yes, there is another possibility, but that would mean you have beaten nature's laws of physics)

Their upstream is skylink datacenter which is in Eygelshoven and not Amsterdam, you dont have to ask nor believe them, just use bgptools and see by yourself.

If you're still lying with something simple as your Dutch location, why should we trust you with saving the planet?

As told a few times before: it's NOT Amsterdam. It's even closer to Dusseldorf as it is to Amsterdam.

We will provide the proof here as soon as this campaign ends. We have a contract with OneTreePlanted.org. Maybe you can check their website a bit and see that they are doing a great job.

About the datacenter, the guys from there told us that is located within a Tower in Lelystad (Amsterdam area).

Hey, I totally get why you're questioning this, and I appreciate the detailed breakdown.

We have a contract with a well-known datacenter that states our servers are in Lelystad, Netherlands (which is in the Amsterdam region). That’s what we’re going by. We’re not trying to claim we’re in the middle of Amsterdam—just that our servers are in the Netherlands, as per our contract.

Now, about the latency results you posted—yeah, that does look a bit weird, and I’ll definitely check with the datacenter to see what’s up. That said, there are a few things that could explain this:

    • Routing & Peering Differences – The network paths taken by packets don’t always reflect geographic distance directly. The datacenter might have specific upstream providers or routing optimizations that result in lower latency to certain areas. For example, if their primary upstream provider has a strong presence near Eygelshoven, the routing could make it seem like the server is physically closer than it actually is.

    • IP Address & Geolocation – Our IPs are from a Romanian provider, so some networks might not immediately associate them with the Netherlands. Geolocation databases aren’t always accurate when it comes to routing.

    • Latency vs. Real Distance – While, in theory, 200km should add ~2ms round trip, network routing doesn’t always work that way. Things like direct fiber routes or different interconnections can sometimes make latency lower than expected.

We’re not here to play location games—we just want to be clear that our servers are in the Netherlands. We don’t care about being in Amsterdam specifically, as we’re aiming to have a presence in multiple countries, not just certain cities.

That said, I’ll reach out to the datacenter to see if they can clarify anything on their end. If there’s anything useful I find out, I’ll share it here.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from, and I see why this is being questioned.

We checked everything—routes, pings, BGP data, and the info you guys provided—and yeah, we see what you're saying. The routing does seem to go through Skylink in Eygelshoven, which is definitely interesting.

A few possible reasons for this:

    • The datacenter could be using Skylink’s network as an upstream, making it look like that’s where the servers are.
    • The servers might actually be in Eygelshoven, even though we were told otherwise.
    • There could be some routing optimizations affecting how this all looks from the outside.

We never tried to mislead anyone—just went off the info we were given. But yeah, real-world network data speaks louder than whatever’s on paper, so I’ll check in with the datacenter and see what’s up.

At the end of the day, what matters to us is having a solid Netherlands-based hosting service, not pushing a specific city name. If I get anything useful from them, I’ll update you guys here.

Not at the moment, sorry. We really like how AMD CPUs perform in different environments, especially since they’re smaller and often more cost-effective. Plus, we’ve noticed a lot of people prefer AMD over Intel. However, we don’t have a concrete plan yet for when or how we might migrate to AMD—but it’s definitely something we’d like to explore in the future.

I know, but I didn't want to go into "we use X or Y as upstream, so that explains why that mentions another location". Latency is telling everything here - it's just impossible that, when I am with a host in Eygelshoven (200km from Amsterdam) I get a latency below 1ms to another IP that is supposed to be in the Amsterdam area.

It's understandable that people look at a Lelystad DC and say it's in "the A'dam area", it's about 50km away, but that's something completely different as Eygelshoven. Though it still could very well be that the servers are in Lelystad, but then the testIP is in Eygelshoven - so pretty useless as a testIP.

Why I'm bothered by all this - what's my personal interest - people may ask. Not to blame a host for making mistakes. It's mainly because I'm always looking for locations near Amsterdam that I don't have presence in and that have low latency between eachother.

And in this case it's just impossible, going by the testIP, that that IP is in Amsterdam or anywhere near.

Very interesting discussion. And thank you for the little insight @dapavn. :)

I've been using the Starter VPS since Black Friday 24 and am really very satisfied. I haven't noticed a single failure so far. I use it as a tailscale node with SWAG.

    HostSlim / Cellnex?

Amsterdam is in North Holland. Lelystad is in Flevoland.

    Is ipv6 subnet actually a single /120?
with ndppd(instead of webpannel v6 manage ), only ::1 to ::f8 are pinable on my server, which is a single /120 and minus a few ip.

We're a week further. So either there is nothing useful (which I would find strange because clarifying what's going on and knowing where your datacenter is should be), or they can't answer the simple question "where is my datacenter"...

Another option could be that they're delivering the answer by foot from Eygelshoven to Amsterdam....
