Cheap Storage HDD VPS in any location?

Is there any provider that offers a monthly plan for an HDD VPS with at least 500GB of storage? I recommend the Asia region, but I’m also open to global locations if they come at a lower price. Stability is crucial since I intend to use it as a file server. All of this because AWS is quite expensive.

I have a very similar (but somewhat smaller) such VPS from AlphaVPS / @AlexBarakov since years and can confirm that it's not only quite cheap but also very reliable and that AlphaVPS offers excellent, quick and friendly support. Uptime over 450 days (would be even longer if I hadn't done a full OS upgrade).

For larger storage (5+ TB) I'd recommend @host_c

Do you actually want a vps or just the storage?

Because hostbrr $7/year for 500 gb direct admin storage is perfect for many use cases.

If you need upload/download via webui, then just install any file browser and it works just fine.

1 TB was probably $15 as far as I remember

My first storage vps was alpha vps. It was very reliable. I changed to host_c because it's cheaper and same reliability.

7 and 15 euro, closer to $8 and $16. Good option if sftp transfers are sufficient.

This is one of the best monthly options in terms of cost of a terabyte:

2 cores // 2 GB RAM // 2 TB RAID-Z 2 (ref)

They have cheaper 1 TB offers, but those are annual.

Stability is crucial

I'm a client for more than two years. Zero complaints.

I would highly recommend any storage vps with at least 15gb NVMe/SSD storage for OS.

This makes a pretty big difference for vps performance.

Get Hetzner storage box's 1TB for 3.2 euros per month, unlimited bandwidth.

There are more attractive offers around in LET for some going as low as 1 euro per TB or less! But it doesn't suit me cuz of bandwidth limitation.

Although I barely use 1TB per month, I'd like to have comfort of not worrying about bandwidth if I had to download/upload massive amount because of whatever reason.

I get about 300-400Mbps from Indian residential ISP. I use it to backup my minecraft server which is hosted in Mumbai. Automated cron. Does the job just fine.

Whats outrageous is every single time it goes down, he marks it as "planned maintenance" and of course, posts booty pics with ihos tart written. big smh.

otherwise, great guy. I wouldnt host anything I want 24/7 tho.
