  • Wildcard SSL for under $30/yr? That's a great offer; subdomains can accumulate quickly. Managing distinct credentials gets old quickly and I have been juggling a few little e-commerce businesses. This may help to save some effort.

Just wondering how the re-issuance procedure is handled by you folks. Some CAs have made things far more difficult than they ought to be. Regarding browser compatibility or issuing speed, is there also much difference between Click SSL and Positive SSL?

Your not being truthful in your listing, as the low prices are only IF someone buys multiple years at a time.

    Should be:
ClickSSL Wildcard SSL Certificate = $45 for single year. Down to $29.00 Per Year for 5 year Certificate.

EssentialSSL Wildcard Certificate = $55 for single year. Down to $39.00 Per Year for 5 year Certificate.

PositiveSSL DV Wildcard Certificate = $65 for single year. Down to $49.00 Per Year for 5 year Certificate.

Sectigo DV WildcardSSL Certificate = $90 for single year. Down to $65.00 Per Year for 5 year Certificate.

  • out of interest, who is still paying for cheap, non-EV SSL certs in 2025? I can't really see the market, since even non-technical users will most likely be getting ACME certs for free via the competitive pressure on their provider.

Caddy automated certificates are effortless, unless you have more than 50 subdomains that exceeds rate limits.

Now, does CheapSSLShop support ACME protocol for large amounts of certificates under a primary domain?

LE and Caddy can do wildcard certs:

    https://letsencrypt.org/docs/faq/#does-let-s-encrypt-issue-wildcard-certificates
    https://caddyserver.com/docs/automatic-https#wildcard-certificates

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. Personally feel like if you're going to pay, you might as well get an ev. If you just need a signed cert, you can easily automate it and "forget" about it.

I have used letsencrypt, works great and charm. Is caddyserver free? same 3 months renewal like letsencrypt?

Good luck @JasonP. Living in tougher economy.. 30$ a year a insane price, will help a lot of people

caddy is free, github link: https://github.com/caddyserver/caddy. It's really easy to configure a page with caddy using a free certificate – actually it's the default in caddy.

caddy uses http://zerossl.com/ or https://letsencrypt.org/ for it's certificates. And if needed is also able to to wildcard certs (only LE AFAIK). So the certs will all be 90 days (for now, this hopefully goes down to 47 days this year).

I agree that the ACME protocol is the perfect enterprise solution for a large number of certificates, however, it's a completely different product.

    Hello @Ohmyzsho
We’re glad you found our offer helpful! Yes, Wildcard SSL makes managing multiple subdomains for your e-commerce businesses much easier.

For re-issuances, you can request them anytime, and we process them quickly for free. ClickSSL and PositiveSSL are fast, reliable, and compatible with all major browsers.

The main difference is that ClickSSL is a sub-CA, powered by Sectigo Root, whereas PositiveSSL is issued by Sectigo itself.

Let us know if you have more questions!
