LF : 2TB or 4TB Storage - Adult Friendly

I'm looking to replace BackBlaze with something less expensive, and I've seen places like Servarica and such, but I really don't like the "we accept everything legal except adult" stance they have (even though my data would just be stored there as a backup/not served to the public).

Any offers for 2TB or 4TB storage with or without VPS? (Just needs rclone compatible.)

Then? How would they find out you host porn if no one complains?

That doesn't bother me. I mean, if the racks getting attention when they're there aren't the electronic ones, they can't be too slutty.

As to the storage, almost certainly they wouldn't ever know if was porn being stored there, but I just don't want to spend money supporting them.

We offer block storage for $6 /TB on our VPS: https://datawagon.com/vps

RAID10 NVMe Cached, attached with Infiniband storage fabric. Very fast, close to local performance.

Appreciate the offer, but that would be more expensive than BackBlaze B2 because it would need a VPS, too.

I've got no complaints about BackBlaze. Just looking to spend less if I can.

Encrypt your ihos & tart pictures: https://rclone.org/crypt/
When the provider asks, just say it's data samples from your noise generator.

Would that be a valid excuse to lift the obligation to provide a decryption key, should the police ever ask at the tea gathering?

Gotta buy a Infinite Noise TRNG so you have plausible deniability.

    Hi.

    Please check our dedicated servers
    https://alexhost.com/dedicated-servers/

Pick your dedicated server the most cheap possible and during the order you can configure it as you want. adding more Disk Space. The cheapest one comes already with 1TB.

If your files are private just for backup providers never will check unless you make it public.

Is better to go with dedicated servers. We allow Adult Content (+18). Please read our AUP and everything is fine.

    We don't offer storage vps

Honestly, for a personal backup I would just pick whatever provider you want and just encrypt it client side. Id do this irrespective of what the data was. The provider won’t see the data and from their perspective, they’re not being exposed if the data isn’t accessible nor is the data usable if it was to leak without additional decryption.

Once again, do you really think @labze has time to go thru the TBs of data his customers store and check each file for porn?

Is the downtime as bad as people say it is?

I think it's more of a "they resell hetzner and hetzner doesn't allow that stuff" thing

It might also be to prevent people using the service for tube sites.

If it is pure backup and not being served why isn't it encrypted?

Again, I know I could store backups encrypted and it 99.999999% likely not be an issue, but it doesn't need to be encrypted. It's for a quickly accessible backup copy of what's on another publicly available server. I don't need to serve it from the backup. I just need it stored an additional place with a fast connection so that I can deploy a replacement server, if needed.

Everybody's missing the forest for the trees. Why would I want to do business with a company that looks down on me? They've chosen to put that in the AUP, and I've chosen to respond in kind.

Personally I do not care what people chose to store, outside of some very select few extreme things. In any case, I would never look into what people uploads. I only respond to abuse notices, which means something that broke the TOS has been publicly available for someone to act on.

For personal backups that isn't public facing then storing pornographic content should be no issue at all. But I understand if someone wants to look elsewhere so there isn't any doubt at all.

    nice!

is there also an interface to turn it into real noise for my offbeat music projects?

Hi. We provide such opportunities (As long as they do not violate the law). You can find out more about the servers here. And more details about the terms of use here.

  • HostMeNowHostMeNow Member, Host Rep

We provide some cheap storage VPS servers. Otherwise, if you need more storage then a cheap dedicated server may suffice.

  • Rename files and use another extension, that shouldnt worry any provider.

Appreciate the reply, but £15 / month / 1TB isn't cheap by any definition. Backblaze has extreme redundancy for $6 / month / 1TB, so my needs would be something better than that.

Appreciate this, too, but again, it's more expensive than Backblaze.
