Helo,

I need a small server to test the web panels.
The specifications are:

  • Anywhere in the USA
  • KVM
  • 2 GB RAM (DDR3 or DDR4 irrelevant)
  • 1 vCPU
  • 35 GB SSD
  • 1 TB Traffic
Supports for AlmaLinux and Ubuntu latest versions.
    2.50 / month

Why not use Hetzner? With hourly billing you can just spin up an instance for a few hours, do your testing and delete them when you're done.

Double OP's budget for the location.

Not if he needs to spin up an instance for a few hours of testing when Hetzner bills hourly. If he needs it for a month continuously, then yeah, look elsewhere.

With double budget I can buy a much better thing.

If you prepay 1 year or 3 years, many great deals that makes your budget doable.
Please search the offers section, many deals still active.

There are some who had monthly promos at your rate or close to it too. If you really need something quick, and not a whole month, even consider hourly billing solutions. That would be cheaper.

IMHO, for you, Oracle FREE Tier, 24GB RAM server. Run it and do it.

Sorry I actually am using it. It also doesn’t have the storage needed. It’s smaller.

Unfortunately, I don't need a year, but a monthly payment.

How does billing work with Hetzner? It’s based on usage? Like if we run a script for a couple of hours and stay idle afterward and run again after a week, then the bill after one month is for 8 hours?

No turning your server is not enough you need to delete it for it to be not billed.
