Did I make a wrong choice buying a VPS at alphavps.com ?
I made the payment and it said I was blocked by MaxMind.
Now when I look at the status of the Product/Service it says:
nyr-1TB: Status: Fraud
Are they not reliable ?
I made a support ticket 2 hours ago with no answer yet.

AlphaVPS is a premium provider.
if you have been blocked by maxmind it shows more like you are not reliable.
Explain ?
I'm using Meo in Portugal, why would this be blocked by MaxMind ?
Could be due to a high amount of fraud they've experienced from that country in particular and they're on the "better safe that sorry" route.
2 hours isn't waiting long enough.
AlphaVPS is a top notch, reputable provider and they will absolutely get you taken care of as long as you can be patient.
Alright, happy to hear that AlphaVPS is safe.
I'll wait until tomorrow morning, no problem, apparently is 02:41 at night there.
I'd advise you to not expect a reaction and solution before Jan 2nd. After all it's humans working at AlphaVPS / @AlexBarakov and many offices aren't manned or at least in "slow cooking"/emergencies only mode during the Xmas & new year period.
But you might be lucky and get a response earlier - which would in fact just underline what a fine provider AlphaVPS is.
Whatever the outcome will be, a multiyear consistently excellent experience with AlphaVPS clearly tell me who's right and who's wrong.
Don’t worry! They are a very reliable provider that I have used for many years.
You bought a ticket, but they wouldn't let you in.
It's the Christmas weekend and you don't expect anyone will answer quickly, so we'll have to wait.
Sir.
This is low end talk.
Others claim this is a premium provider.
Does not compute.

Thank you everyone for chiming in!
We're staffed around the clock, even during the holidays. However lower priority tickets (such as fraud marking) are generally dealt with during EU daytime hours. We're experiencing a lot of fraudulent orders - these seem to grow in number as we grow bigger. This requires manual fine-tuning of all of our fraud checking tools, including, but not limited to MaxMind. We need to keep our network clean.
All in all - I believe I've found the ticket for @kreal and it was answered a bit earlier. I am unable to share details on why it was automatically rejected, but we're looking forward to fixing all issues with the account and getting it setup!
Happy Holidays, everyone!
Alex
Regarding being Christmas weekend, well yesterday was Monday, not a weekend in my book and I am working, so I count on others working as well.
I wanted to updated this discussion and state that I've received good support from AlphaVPS
It works very good compared to other VPS providers, I am very satisfied:
