Running Windows inside OpenVZ

Hello,

Before you start flaming, I will test this on my own OpenVZ container on my KVM VPS, so don't start posting something like "die abuser die" :P I will only test it and I want to know how that works.

I read several times now that with QEMU it is possible to run Windows inside one OpenVZ container. I found this tutorial: http://freevps.us/thread-2789.html

But does someone know how it works on Debian?

  • Find the Debian version for those packages.

Yes. Compile it, BC the apt packages are old. There's a support for a processor which it will make windows 7 boot

I would not do this, already attempt to run virtualbox windows xp in a 128MB KVM.

Yes it works but its slow like fuck, you would need at least 256MB :D

Virtuozzo has a windows version. I've never used it. But the subject of openvz and windows is interesting on that note alone. I can barely comprehend how virtuozzo for windows can even share a name with virtuozzo for linux.

And my post had so little to do with your thread it's kind of funny.

    Just do

    apt-get install qemu

    then consult http://linux.die.net/man/1/qemu-kvm for usage
