    Is that real?

Well unfortunately on Ticket they said its not possible. I have asked for the reason as I dont really see it as additional cost to them.

Development costs would be there and most likely not that small as it would have to be tested, adjusted when something else changes, etc.

Yea... They dont even allow to split it between VMs like 200GB each. But cant complain for $3-$9/yr deal.

Yes split is not something many providers allow unless you have a block storage
And that too it is usually only on one provisioned vm and not shared.

    Good thing to have

I think you are looking for is a resource pool

Where you buy a bunch of resources and then build and deploy the configuration you want.

Only one provider comes to mind @SmartHost

But don't think they do block storage for resource pool... yet.

M sure there are others too, just I am not aware of them

Honestly my $5 1 TB VPS is maybe the best deal I got during BF/CM/Christmas if performance stays the same and the uptime is good.

100% agreed ... Its more of idler for me, but planning for resource pool as @plumberg suggested. But to learn new thing and test them on cheaper plans :)

That is a real gamble tbh

At this price there is overselling and abuse of resources by your neighbors.

Yesterday someone reported 30 40% io wait times

It should be the other storage backup option. If anyone uses it for near production without a dr strategy is in for a bug surprise

But yeah if things stabilize and performance sticks one banger deal at this price.

Not really, I swear and can 100% confirm I didn't get baited today, but the repeated amount of the link more than once is just nothing buy annoying. Several members here has also raised concern and finally it triggered me enough that I should fix it.

It seems that the deceptive logout link has been isolated from the forum's logout button. I can still log out and log in normally by using the logout button in the forum settings!

hmm, because im thinking of trading my $5/year digirdp vps located in Dallas texas for another vps
i also got an invoice for Digirdp's $9/year 500gb ssd vps but im not sure if i should buy it

    Ssd? 500gb?

Most likely this, 500 GB HDD.

no, it was ssd i think. its intel not ryzen.

    Oh? When/where was it available?

    Exactly
I never saw the ssd ones

Even other providers would never offer such deals

Its HDD - If out of Bengaluru Flash sales. Ryzen 5900 + 500GB HDD

yes, my bad. i misread it 😭

Its a good deal. But I wonder why they dont allow us to map that Storage drive to all our VMs with DigiRDP.

    What do you mean?

Basically lets say if you have 5 VM's at DigiRDP and one of the comes with additional 1TB storage drive, they should allow it to be mounted to all 5 of them if requested as it comes with no additional cost. So that 1TB Storage drive is shared between all 5 VMs.

If it's a block device, you can't just share it like that. You'd need to mount it on one and share it to the others some other way, e.g. using NFS

That's what I am trying to confirm with them. If they are able to mount it, then that will save me lot of B/W.

I think you're conflating two things here:

    • mounting a ceph RBD filesystem on multiple systems - not possible as only one VM can access a block device at once as this is enforced by ceph itself
    • passing traffic to another machine you have in the same data center over private network to save BW costs - which is possible, even if you're using NFS to share it from one machine to another

  • So basically no deal drop since the sudoku murder?
