Personally, yes, I really like my tailscale network.
I will keep!!! I'm liking it
This, in itself clears my problem of having dynamic IP. TrK did say I might have to use DDNS as well.
It's great to see more people joining the RN bandwagon.
Btw it's easy to setup a proxy for my VPS to torrent?
Your tailscale machines are assigned domains if you don't want to use IP, but a fallback option is never a bad idea.
Or, get VPS with a provider that's okay with P2P.
Thanks, man. I have to try this for myself to learn more about it.
Private trackers are ideal, you know, for those linux ISOs.
Aren't they expensive though?
Always read the terms of service before doing anything. P2P or not.
I have yet to pay a dime. Usenet costs money though, but is generally cheap.
Again, just for those linux ISOs.
Absolutely. I also notified him about hosting copyrighted media on the servers before confirming with the host at the very least.
Problem is the megathread squad. They'll crucify me. @emgh owns my ass.
Oh I see. Pardon me I missed this. I thought you guys were discussing private trackers for other media.
They don't like purple very much, as I have noticed. Oh well.
😭😭 I need invites
Does purple for RackNerd come from Dustin's profile picture's background?
Basically. It has a long history here, but generally anything referred to as "purple" is RackNerd. They like to pick on us for various reasons. It's all in good fun.
(Or is it?
)
@DeusVult BTW, why not just setup Jellyfin on your home PC or hardware and use Tailscale if you wanna access it remotely? I am using my Android box running OpenWrt for Jellyfin.
If your upload speed allows for it, this is not a bad plan.
I only have a notebook that I won't be able to keep 24/7 running. Power is too expensive here
Biggest issue is diversity. Just one provider here. So how good can it get? I don't care for TVs, credit or crap.
I want servers. Ridiculously cheap. Like
4 GB Memory
4 vCores
44 GB NVMe Storage
4 TB Bandwidth
7/y
Never gonna get that here.
Oh I see. I guess only the OG gang knows the history in detail. I am comparatively a new entrant.
@dustinc Can we match this?
I was thinking on getting digiRDP 17 dollars 1TB deal, but BW is too small for it. I asked for a price with more bandwidth on DMs but nothing till now
Oh yes. You do need some good speeds, but I have done it satisfactorily on a 25Mbps connection. Also, if you do go ahead, just use their official clients on your devices to avoid the transcoding load on your Jellyfin server.
Oh. Can you get your hands on a cheap Qmlogic S905 or better Android box?
17? I think some payed 5?
yoyo dog
