    A few notes:

The OS was current and up to date. I always run apt update && install but it proved unnecessary. Good work.

I manually added swap. I feel like it should be provisioned with swap given that it has a smaller amount of RAM. Other users may feel different.

IP6 is not enabled by default. There is an option to enable it in the panel without intervention.

Exotic location for the lowend market.

The performance seems all around great with 1 exception. Multi Core GB6 performance is not superb.

I feel like the GB6 multi core performance is attributed solely to the low RAM and swapping during the run.

To say the performance is great all around would be an understatement. It would be more precise to say it performs with snake like agility.

For a free gift it's amazing but with a 34$/year tag for renewal it's unlikely I'll keep it. I'm spoiled by 7$ chicken. Definitely worth more than 7$.

Thanks for sharing this! I wanted to note a few things for anyone seeing this.

SWAP wasn't allocated as this is the first time we have offered VPS's under 2GB of RAM. This isn't a normal offer we plan to keep (only have it for events like this), so not sure if we will add SWAP.

For the IPv6, some people don't want to use it at all. While we would like users to start using and adopting IPv6 as much as possible, we would rather just give the option. ;)

I would agree on your assessment of the multi-core score.

The price may seem steep, but you have to remember that all our Ryzen VPS's have dedicated vCPU's (hence the zero steal).

Again, thanks for sharing! Hope you enjoy!

For clarity: you describe this as dedicated vcpu. Does that mean the section of your AUP describing Shared CPU Limitations does not apply? (No more than 50% CPU for 15 consecutive minutes)

Also, I would like to state for the record that I support medical cannabis, and that I respect your policy against any it, even if I don't agree. Is this Michigan law or personal politics? It's my understanding that industrial hemp (CBD) is legal throughout the states.

"Any website related to Cannabis or CBD is strictly forbidden without prior proof of appropriate permit(s)"

It does not apply to plans unless a shared vCPU is stated. Since Ryzen plans are dedicated, this part of the AUP does not apply.

There is no personal politics behind that. I fully support Cannabis being used medically or recreationally (even though I do not partake in it myself). We mention this because it is incredibly regulated in all states and is still federally illegal. Exceptions are made if businesses wish to use us for hosting and if they can show proof that they are licensed.

Thanks, dedicated cpu is a big selling point and also justifies the higher price.

I asked google: is hemp legal in the US?

"The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill) authorized the production of hemp and removed hemp and hemp seeds from the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) schedule of Controlled Substances."

Trying to be more specific I asked: is CBD legal in the USA:

"Yes, CBD is legal in the United States, but its legality varies by state and depends on the THC content of the product"

And because local laws matter too I asked: what is the legal status of CBD in Michigan?

"Legal Status of CBD in Michigan
CBD is legal in Michigan, and there are no legal age restrictions when purchasing hemp-derived CBD oil. But, marijuana-derived CBD products may only be purchased by people 21 years of age or older."

While your TOS & AUP are not in dispute, I respectfully disagree with your assertion that CBD is incredibly regulated and federally illegal.

In closing, it's still running on super nice hardware, politics notwithstanding.

    Regards,

I appreciate having this conversation, thank you.

CBD is not legal in all states and most require sellers to have specific licenses (like in Michigan), hence our requirement in the AUP. Hemp itself is fine, but it's Marijuana, THC, and CBD that makes it tricky. When I mentioned the regulation, I was referring to THC products.

Thank you for the comments on the hardware ;)

We could think about that in the future for giveaways/sals like these. However, we have veered away from even thinking about IPv6 VPSs only. I feel that the support overhead would be too crazy...

What about no support for non-uptime/performance related issue?

There will always be people who open tickets, even if we expressly state there would be no connectivity support. And if they open one and we deny support, then we would look like the bad guy and end up with a bad review, more than likely.
