lxde vnc install getting error with xauth

edited January 2014 in Help

so im following this tutorial to setup lxde w/firefox (http://www.vandorp.biz/2012/01/installing-a-lightweight-lxdevnc-desktop-environment-on-your-ubuntudebian-vps/) everything sets up fine and I can install firefox browse fine etc. However during the setup process I get a error message after "would you like to enter a view-only password (y/n)?"

xauth: file /home/user/.Xauthority does not exist

everything works fine tho, do I need to install xauth or just ignore the message?

one issue: the logout function seems to do nothing.

awesome thanks, any idea about the logout button? it jus takes me back to the desktop and does nothing.

  • I also use ubuntu for remote desktop with vnc & lxde. Seems logout button only work on KVM VPS. Not sure.. but just kill vnc through ssh console

    # tightvncserver -kill :1
