I think it does NOT. Hetzner has two separate areas - robot (storage box and dedis) and cloud (this code here). But I haven't tried it.
it works as a Credit to the could account I don't see why it would not as its part of the could invoice system I would think ( not tried it though yet... )
have until the end of Jan to use it.
Storage box or object storage? Not on storage box, but I think it works on object storage - since it is on Hetzner Cloud.

You mean their new S3 object storage?
The new S3 object storage is part of the cloud and is invoiced together with other cloud services, so I am pretty sure the code will work.

As they are asking for a payment method on the last step of a registration, what's the amount they charge/reserve?
On January 2023 it was 20€.
That is identity verification.
My creditcard was charged 0€ in the registration process; haven't been charged anything in the last 4 years, really. Basically since covid started there was no actual charge-chargeback shenanigans for me in Germany
Not worth for me to create hetzner account for just 10 Euro
