Is there a way to test this with command line (curl / wget / HTTPie)?
They block most IPs owned by datacenters. They could also choose to block you specifically. Good luck.
I don't know I just use a browser to test it
Just find a VPS provider with an IP that belongs to an ISP.LOL!
You can curl and just grep for "You've been blocked by network security"
This script can test for that (and more): https://github.com/lmc999/RegionRestrictionCheck/blob/main/README_EN.md
You can test a curl to
https://www.reddit.com/r/all/new.json?sort=new&limit=3
You can bypass the block using cookie of a dummy Reddit account.
@kuroit IP address works too in my SG VPS.
Was about to say this. They don't block the IP if you're logged in. Could also try to find a proxy provider.
Doesn't look like they blocking it on all DC's IP's.
I already got a few hits within my first VPS's.
More like bad ranges are blocked.
my SolidSEO VPS in Kansas works for reddit without having to login
OP asked for IPv6 access to Reddit, but I see no AAAA record for www.reddit.com hostname.
Reddit is just being a moron, it sometimes turn on/off ipv6. You can try ipv6.reddit.com and if it doesn't work then add these address to your hosts file https://www.reddit.com/r/ipv6/comments/7thcgo/you_can_optionally_reddit_via_ipv6_anytime_you/
Just use wgcf, reddit does not block WARP
Tested all my servers with this command:
Working:
Blocked:

I have a private redlib instance installed for reading, and I login to old.reddit.com if I want to post something. Redlib works without logging in, despite the error displayed on the website.
Use old.reddit.com - I'm connected to an IncogVPN IP 24/7 on my laptop and can access reddit just fine.
Just tested and from our VM's works both from IPv4 and IPv6 (/64 with each VPS).
We have also hourly billing, so you can do your tests with just fractions of cents.
They used to, but now even the login page is blocked.
Just use wireguard warp as outbound or second vpn - pretty easy.
How common is this practice?
I'm also using the old sane reddit interface.
This extension redirects to it by default: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/old-reddit-redirect/
Can say that requests from Hetzner IP are mostly blocked despite that.
Although I'm not logged in most of the time (rarely have time for reddit these days).
EZ Button: DDNS with home server.
And yes you will get blocked at home for spamming with your bot. Just being honest.
I guess you are planning to buy a server to set up a proxy and access Reddit. But Reddit will block most datacenter IPs.
We use a clean ISP proxy for that. And of course, use an anti-detection browser if you plan to log in from various accounts.
This might not be very useful for you but my @crunchbits vps running a redlib instance isnt blocked. I can also login using a browser to reddit.com itself. Never had any problems with other sites that usually block datacenters too.
FWIW I have used normal VPNs no issue if you just login to an account. You if needing a bunch of IPs try smartproxy.com for millions of datacenter IPs, but most will be blocked I suspend
