i don't trust hostcram lmao, anyone running ipmi on the public internet is entirely incompetent and should not be running any sort of hosting business.
backups AND failover infra on a different provider in a different facility will get you through almost any type of outage, be it fiber cuts, ddos, hardware failure, etc
I know you often “recommend” virmach. As much as I agree that they're not that bad. Or rather, they're far from the worst in the business.
But virmach is such a mess in daily operation... I'd find it hard to believe that they're any better when it comes to security.
I have to like Virmach now, since I've been ordering their dope for days... but still
I can confirm Virmach has their IPMIs on a private network, aka they do the bare minimum.
so you trust him?
I like les, and I've had virmach servers for quite some time (and happy with them). They do some really cool blackfriday stuff though, and I appreciate the effort.
At the end of the day, it's a dirty cheap VPS for dirt cheap purposes. But they make the process fun
I trust Virmach enough to be a customer. I wouldn't run anything important on their infra without having a live backup somewhere else.
@dustinc had some good deals and good service when I remember leaving Virmach. Just sharing
Virmach has an interesting history for sure; it will be interesting to see how things go - for $5 it’s worth a gamble.
better hurry!
Absolutely not!!!
The Virmach saga is an epic 10 year tale. A tale of crossed colons and welded Ryzens, of ghostly flying wheels and bitter betrayals, with legendary feats of fortitude and not a few unanswered questions. Many have predicted the pool of death, but to this very hour the deals still flow freely.
So yes, sure, why not?
If It’s cheap enough, even sh*t smells sweet
I got VirmAched

Virmache gave me a $0.50/y first year NYC KVM, couldn't say no.
It is alarming how fast people forget wrong doings of virmache. How fast they ignore the lack of support and atrocious communication or lack of it to the customers. My my, blinded by the price, albeit not that cheap after all…
