Pre Black Friday - What do you run on your server?

I have asked this question twice before with my last post being in Feburary. However, with black friday deals quick approaching I was curious if people had started to run anything new on their servers so I could look at getting new servers for it.
I run
Archive Warrior
Jellyfin
Tor
I2P
Monero Node
Minecraft Server
Ripe Atlas
Wireguard
Tailscale
Immich

  • New AI things on a GPU server I run are:
  • Paperless-NGX
  • OpenWebUI

Comments

  • Which host allows Monero mining?

Sorry I meant a node for a wallet I have - not mining!

I'm doing just the basics, Mox mailserver (works great!), Caddy, next I want to run DNS authoritative server, probably go based too, so CoreDNS. Oh and Postgres which is the most resource intensive as I'm working with dozens of GB of data.

  • Running? nothing. Idling? yes.

  • What I run everyday

    Route optimization:

    • VPN (restrict access to private services, improving latency)
    • Proxies (geo-bypass)
    • Relays (nat-bypass)

    Privacy

    • Ephemeral desktop instances (when working on public computers, e.g. library or laboratory)
    • DNS (reduce tracking, reduce ads)
    • Vaultwarden
    • Nextcloud (storage and sync only)

    Fun

    • KMS server for (educational) Windows license activations
    • Changedetection (changelog and stock update notifications)

There are many other services I host (probably 20+ more) but I would strongly advise against hosting too much stuff, wasted a lot of time figuring everything out, even though it was fun... just ask yourself if you REALLY need them (like authentication, kubernetes, monitoring dashboard, personal certificate authority, bgp, high availability everywhere,...)

    TS3 Server

What is the benefit of running your own instance of bitwarden over using the free public version available ? Is it just privacy or do you get more features.

  • Auto torrent client, i want to upload 1PB data for fun

    .

  • Not exhaustive

    • Proxmox
    • Proxmox backup server
    • Gitlab CI
    • Windows server
    • Personal projects (mainly Rust and Python)
    • Vaultwarden
    • Immich
    • Nextcloud
    • Wireguard
    • Docuseal
    • Postgres & MariaDB

All this on a very small number of servers and a limited budget :)

Privacy (Bitwarden is an US based company, they are obligated to hand over any data the intelligence agency asks them to)
    TOTP (not available in free)
Password protected one-time file-share (not available in free)
