@labze how does the DA storage work exactly? is it mountable as network drive?

Just an ordinary Directadmin Shared Hosting account with SSH (so you can use SFTP), Ftp/Ftps, Rsync and Borg.

The traffic will be calculated both in and out.

    no ftps on my storagebox

    How you are using sftp?

  • For anyone wanting to mount cloud drives including SFTP there is also a discount for 7$ on Mountain Duck at bundlehunt.com (license works cross-platform).

Ftps is basically an Ftp, you just need to change protocol (and maybe your port if not done automatically) on your ftp client.

  • The storage box was so laggy that it was impossible to open websites and upload any files
It took over 20 seconds to open an owncloud website with no data

It looks like all the web hosts are on one node, which is a bad experience. :#

Looking forward to other superb offers from hostbrr o:)

It's because everyone is pushing their data. Should get better the coming few weeks

    load average: 53.76, 47.14, 38.87
    I don't think it's a matter of transferring data
Because this server only uses 8.6T
There are a total of 240T hard drives

  • The transfer speeds are kinda low aswell. I'll wait some time and try again. Hopefully all the Cron YABS accounts are getting removed.

If true, that's not a good sign. I hope node is not oversold...

It is not due to it being oversold. Rather, the drives are working overtime currently. CPU usage is less than 5%, RAM is 250 GB free. I am trying to troubleshoot exactly why the drives react this poorly to all the data being pushed.

This high load is entirely caused by drive interrupts.

I really like this virtual host. So I closed my refund ticket. I have decided to wait

  • I try to push 100GB data in the morning. 12 hours later and I am 28% done. :D

A restart of the Storagebox node will take place soon to try and apply some larger changes.

  • for storage, is it possible to enable ssh key authorization rather than a password?

@labze Can I store files on MariaDB? via LONGBLOB

I wonder if there is any potential harm to other users.

Rsync and SSH keys do work. I use them :)

Do you know whether there is a way to disable password auth and keep ssh keys auth only?

Might as well want to get rid of web login for panel though.

  • Is it possible to "soft" deactivate unwanted / unused functions, eg. Webserver share?

  • How are you guys using rsync with sudo disabled?

    rsync -rlth -e "ssh -p 53211 -i /path/to/my/privatekey" /home/me/ [email protected]:backup/

just got one DA storage for no reason. how to mount it on a vps?

I use SSHFS and it works great. I have never tried other methods though. You can learn more about mounting storage over SSH here.
