Loving Lubuntu as my daily driver. Hope this continues.

    It's nice and lightweight

Yah, did distro hop from time to time, mainly between Lubuntu, Xubuntu and Fedora LXDE. I liked Lubuntu more among all the ones I tried.

Only three times? wow, most people I know did at least 4 to 6 times

Those are the major distros. Counting all flavours, esp. arch based ones, the number goes into 15-20

Two of those were ubuntu, what about (open)SUSE? GENTOO? BSD?

Tried Gentoo and few of its flavours. Never tried BSD and Suse

Suse was pretty nice, tried it early on, but I wanted more of a challenge XD

  • Good morning all

Good. Now you move your dev setup to this distro?

Yup already did that. Setup a LEMP stack on Docker and using it right now. It was tough to setup, for me as a beginner, but, it kinda seems much better than Xampp in Windows.

Yup you'll enjoy it. It is easier to configure and maintain these in linux.

@noob404 btw, how is your mystery project coming? :p

Lol! Not at all, bro. It's just that you guys won't find it interesting at all. Anyways, going through the last few debugging steps. Will launch it within the next few days hopefully

Intereting or not we want to know what it is. ;)

So you are planning to launch it for new year?

  • @TrK said:
@xpress7 wanna test the image optimization and provide feedback?

Sure. Dm me details. I'll test it when I find some free time if its not urgent.

Yup, it is. This way it's easy for me to isolate and maintain different projects.

I still run Gentoo on a headless machine at my house, too used to it even though you don't notice any performance increase with newer hardware (basically just reduce attack surface). I have been running opensuse tumbleweed on my laptop since early this year and I like it. Few annoying bugs but nothing major. For a rolling, bleeding edge, binary distro, it's actually pretty solid.
