I'd have preferred a Raspberry Pi with Batocera or something simialr instead and would ahev made a DIY box for the whole arcade.

there's actually a modding scene with the arcade1up machines. I modded the first golden tee they release with an actual arcade board. I also modded one of their virtual pinball machines! They're basically little arm android boards
But, you still have that beefy dedi as a backup. Till you have a new PC< why not use that.
