Netcup vServer-VPS billing (not rootserver) - how does it work?

Do you pay for the 6 months in advance, or you pay monthly and have the balance refunded to you if you don't need it after the 6 months have passed?

eg if you need more than one server do you pay for each one separately on a 6 month minimum contract, then have that one refunded after?

I remember a thread about it some time ago and it was all confusing.

There is a difference between netcup.eu and netcup.de. It also differs per service/offer. Just read - terms are clearly listed on both websites.

Just read and don't blindly click "next next".

    It's not rocket science

Just look at the contract term and the billing period before you decide whether to order or not

There is a difference between the Rootserver and the VPS.

    The VPS says hourly billing.

What does hourly billing mean when the contract is six months?

Why use the term as though billing is stopped or reduced when the server is turned off or destroyed, and you will only get your money back when the billing period is over, or you time can be extended if you didn't use all your "hours"?

    You're reading it wrong

If hourly billing, then there is no minimum contract period

The billing period is six months

You need to pay six months in advance, but you can cancel at any time and receive a refund for your unused time (hours)

This has been said before, but if you're really interested in hourly billing, then netcup probably isn't the best choice (given the significant billing period)
