[Help Needed] Choosing the Right Server Location for US-Based Clients + Server Recommendations

FlxshinFlxshin Member

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on selecting a server location. I'm planning to set up a website and plan to use Cloudflare (CF) as a CDN. The majority of my target clients are based in the United States.

My Questions:
Server Location:
What server location would be optimal in this case? Should I choose a server based in the US, or would other nearby regions (like Canada or Europe) also work fine given the use of Cloudflare? I want to ensure the best possible performance for my US-based users.

Server Recommendations:
Any suggestions for reliable VPS providers? My budget is between $50 and $100 per month. Ideally, I'm looking for a solution that offers good performance, stability, and customer support.

Additional Information:
The server will be mainly used for hosting a website.
I plan to use Cloudflare for CDN and security benefits.
Open to any specific VPS providers or configurations that would be a good fit for my needs.

    Hello,

If your customer base is in US it would make more sense to have a VPS in US.

We have VPS in USA from 4.99 euros / month ( as well as Canada)

You can check out offers here: https://servers.guru

I think any provider in US is fine unless you are targeting areas with limited to low speeds. I host my servers everywhere and perf isn’t a thing really. Depends on scale too

Finance is different obviously and so on

If you're hoping for Europe as well, I think you could look at New York or some such location

Accommodate delays in the U.S. and Europe at the same time

@PureVoltage With the latest campaign, physical servers located in the New York area are only $75, which I think is a good price and location to consider!

@Flxshin Since all your clients are in the US and your budget can support a dedicated server, the US would be an ideal location. Do you have any specific server specifications in mind? This information would help us provide you with the best possible options.

The main thing is to ensure that the connectivity is reliable. You might test the ping to the data centers you’re interested in. The advantage of hosting specifically in the US may be minimal, and you might not even notice the performance difference.

We can offer a server in the Netherlands or the USA for that price range.

What specifications are you interested in?

I'm currently in search of a VPS provider that can offer the following configuration within my budget of $50 to $80 per year:

    CPU Cores: 4
    RAM: 4 GB (4096 MB)
    Storage: 80 GB NVMe
    Bandwidth: 6000 GB per month
