Looking for Affordable .COM Domain Registration Options

I'm on the lookout for a reliable and affordable domain registrar offering low-cost .com registrations. If anyone has recommendations for providers with competitive prices (preferably with no hidden fees or upsells), I’d appreciate hearing about them.

  • According to cloudflare, they sell domains at cost. i don't know anyone else who even claims to do that.

Yep, happened to me too. They didn't even notify me about it, had to look in the API responses to see why renewing didn't work. Moved out INSTANTLY.

If I not wrong, you can't use an external, own nameservers with them (while it's a basic, generic thing from every registrar).

Never had that happen to me, been using porkbun for close to 2 years at this point.
Then again I only have like 4 domains with them.

I just transferred an old .ca domain to them from AWS a few days ago, signed up, paid and done. Never asked for anything like that.

Would have gone to cloudflare with my other domains but cf doesn't do .ca.

Right, only their NS you can use. But with this way you have more safety with their proxy https and you can easily point your server with A records and MX, TX for your mail server. So your origin IP of your web server is hidden and your server is protected and clients see the protected IP range of Cloudflare as IP. You can use another server for the mail server because the mail dns records you can not hide (only if you use something forwarding tricks with Gmail and cloudflare mail or improvmx).

  • Use namecheap and you won't have any problems

Yes, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the live chat.

  • cosmotown.com works fine for me. Yes, it is just like a website built in 2000s, but the price is really charming.

  • sav, dynadot

  • If fresh domain. Look for cheap 1st year promos. Then you can look around for Transfer promos. Cloudflare and Spaceship are pricewise your best bet for renewal.

Also idk what you mean with affordable. ~10$ for a single year is quite affordable. Skip 1-2 coffees in a month and that gets you your domain.
Otherwise you should pick another tld there are some around 2-4$/yr or #xyz for 99cents/yr. However xyz is auto flagged no matter the domain with negative score for mails as majority is simply spam.
