  • Dual Xeon Gold 6130 128GB 2TB NVME Preconfig
    2.1GHz / 3GHz Turbo
    32 Cores / 64 threads 128GB DDR4 2TB NVME • 10Gbit Port
    • 1Gbit Unmetered Transfer
    • 5 usable IPv4 Address
    • /64 IPv6 Address Block** $90.00/month

    https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/out-of-stock/?id=386

The 1 Gbps port machines here can achieve upload speeds of up to 1.8 Gbps, nearly 2 Gbps. If fully utilized for a month, that could exceed 500 TB. I have purchased this before, so the cost-effectiveness needs to be considered.

Are you really comparing wholesale internet with purevoltage? Lol you're guaranteed 400tb with these machines. The network topology and state of the art capacity in NY is over 2Tbps 800Gbps with HE alone with constant monitoring and upgrades as required. Top of rack switches with PV are 80 to 160Gbps. You're comparing a volume provider with premium network provider.

I understand your point, but the Dual Xeon Gold 6130 machine I mentioned is indeed very attractive in terms of cost-effectiveness. While it may not match PureVoltage in network performance, the 1Gbps machines can achieve upload speeds close to 2Gbps in practice, potentially exceeding 500TB of data transfer in a month. I've purchased this before, and my experience has been quite positive.

  • Got one of these last year, their network is staggeringly good for the price point of these deals and their support is significantly more competent and responsive than a provider I pay quite a lot more for at $dayjob.

Regretted not getting two last year, fixing that now!

Like real estate, location is everything. WSI is nice but PureVoltage is at Telehouse data center so you're comparing apples and oranges.

If you can find a similar deal from Hivelocity or Tier (which use the same DC) then you're talking. Likewise streamline servers which I believe use Equinix NY with GSL as upstream.

Thank you for your comment. This brings back memories for me. I bought a 10Gbps server from Streamline Servers at the Equinix data center in New York in June this year. After just a week, my speeds were throttled, and I could only reach 10Gbps upload and download speeds locally in New York. Before that, I was able to get normal speeds from multiple locations. During that week, I used very little data, so I have a negative impression of this provider. They keep insisting that the port is 10Gbps, but PayPal didn’t protect my consumer rights. This is my honest opinion about this service provider.

  • Will you be doing E3 or similar servers? I'm interested in a BGP server (I don't need that much bandwidth)!

I'm in NYC and my cost per kWh is ¢30.62 which I believe translates into like $27 a month for a self-hosted E3 server, so maybe it's worth it to just rent. :(

  • Invoice # 2024-11-01-33335

Please upgrade the bandwidth. Thank you.

  • I've been considering PureVoltage for quite some time and have heard nothing but good things, so I just had to pull the trigger on this one.

I find your comment disingenuous. You're implying there's a traffic filter that checks your source and destination, and if that IP is located outside NY, throttle the speed down to 1gbps or whatever. I see no reason for them to do this. If they don't like you they can simply delete your account or terminate your servers after the billing period without going through such shenanigans.

I have that 10gbps server and personally I haven't seen any throttling, and the price is hard to beat.

I understand your skepticism, but I am not hiding anything, as this incident happened several months ago. I was initially very satisfied with the 10Gbps server and had a pleasant experience. It was only when you mentioned this service provider that I was reminded of my experience. In fact, I did encounter throttling issues during use, especially with connections outside of New York. I hope to share my genuine experience to provide more information for everyone.

Sounds like you know quite a bit about PureVoltage, I just bought one and am still waiting for delivery :)

Do you know if they have any defense against DDoS attacks at the NYC location? They don't say much on their official website.
