VPS config for running macOS Sequoia

Hi Everyone, I hope you have a better Monday than those who lost everything on the 61st floor Aon Center building fire.
I saw this repository
https://github.com/Pyenb/macOS-ISOs?tab=readme-ov-file#download-links-
And I think my GF would mega love to have a Mac VPS workstation.
Being the noob I am, I was wondering what would be a good/beefy/enough config requirement to run a PERSONAL macOS Sequoia for "development" purpose (No one is encouraging anything here).
I am not very familiar with mac os but if i recall properly it's hardware locked or there is no equivalent (At least it was when I was running a hackintosh)

Any help on this project is welcome. Let's stay aware of how bad apple is, I already know.

Beside being illegal to install any Mac OS X on unsupported hardware (as they saying on Terms Of Service, where nobody read it), everything is just fine.

    I. Other Use Restrictions. The grants set forth in this License do not permit you to, and you agree not to, install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-branded computer, or to enable others to do so. Except as otherwise permitted by the terms of this License or otherwise licensed by Apple: (i) only one user may use the Apple Software at a time, and (ii) you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be run or used by multiple computers at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the Apple Software.

  • I'd say just get a used mac mini m1, the result with vps will not be worth an effort.

    Breaking EULA is not illegal
The only thing that can happen is to have your license revoked

    Apple law != the law

  • Just use macinthecloud or any other provider that hosts mac minis.

macOS without a gpu is literally unusable, to an almost unbelievable extent. It’s not just 1 fps UI, it’s things taking 30+ seconds to happen if there is any slight movement on the screen. Think VNC over dialup with 30 second ping

If you’re setting up a Mac VM/VPS for anything other than headless Xcode build slave or iCloud (ab)use you’re going to have a bad time. It’s absolutely not suitable for anything interactive

So actually the regulation is not the law. If a regulation is abusive the abuse is regarded as null. Some developing countries like the state are still struggling with that, but some countries does understand it, and the distribution of the said VPS is fine for a non commercial private use.
THEREFORE, I would like to thank you for mentioning it, as indeed I might have been unaware of it, and that could have lead to legal issue. Thanks sincerely.

I do believe you are right, I was just trying to see if there is any alternative. But my impression is that the path you suggest is the best.

I have head that the true struggle when you are suing apple is that they play unfair. If i recall there is a strategy in the states where they are going to add elements to the court every certain period of time, making the case last for decades or more, and making you unable to settle, and of course unable to pay legal fees. (OFC not in all states)
I have been living in china for a long time and I have been breaking the said regulation most of my life, and that is something i really feel good about. (Please note that i am talking about action that were permitted in China, and by doing it i wasn't breaking any law)

Noted on that. But I was thinking something like a runpod + custom OS.
Please note that I am [relatively] new to the VPS world and i might be saying monstruous non sense.

Yeah I did saw that. Considering the feedbacks here, I think it's a reliable option. Just you know, I think in this forum we all try to find alternatives to commercial overpriced solutions.

The alternative for macOS is to buy an ancient MacBook (with broken screen etc) and boot patch it up to latest macOS

Like hardware video encoding and a few other use cases, nothing from even low end providers beats a 5-10w laptop idling at home

I hope you are logging into your banking account on a non-Apple Kexts.

Beside of jokes-- VMware it does his job very well, also you may give a try to Docker-OSX.

    Good luck.

You're posting this... on a forum with his company based in USA. Their terms are not a Law rule but you have to comply in the same way as you comply with LowEndTalk terms or rules. I know is hard to understand what does it means to use a Pirated software until someone will knock your door. :-)
