Is transferring domain to cloudflare a good option?

I understand that cloudflare cannot modify dns, but this does not affect me much, and the price of cloudflare is not too expensive. I would like to ask if it is safe to put the domain name in cloudflare. If my website is subject to DMCA or other violations, will they directly disable my account? Can you tell me about your experience with cloudflare registrar? Thank you

It depends, cloudflare is based in San Francisco, California so for DCMA it has to follow US copyright laws otherwise your domain will be blocked iirc. I'm using porkbun (US based) for my domains and I haven't had any issues. I just use cloudflare for DNS and NS. If you get a DCMA claim cloudflare usually when the reporter files a DCMA claim they have the option to send the claim directly to your hosting provider or to you directly. (before they send the claim they have the option to not include their PII iirc)

Note that whois info is not fully private with Cloudflare. Your Country and State is exposed. It's not a problem if you live in a huge state but it could be otherwise.

What TLD are you looking to purchase? Unless you specifically need Cloudflare for whatever reason, I'd go with someone else, almost anyone else.

I'd go with cloudflare only if the world would have like a couple of registrars left: them and godaddy.

The other side of the coin is the danger with a small company. For many years I had domains with a site called WebLaunching.net without any issue. One day it all stopped working and there was no way to administer the domains through their website. It was a lot of hassle to get the domains transferred.

cloudflare is better if you use their dns or cdn.
you can try others for dmca ignored domain registrars:

• namesilo (they only take down if domain if its hosted there or using their DNS)
• nicenic.net (no dmca, based in HK)
• the-online.com (no dmca, based in NL and US)
• ourdomain.com (no dmca, based in HK)
• dnspod.com (no dmca if you don't use their dns/hosting, based in CN)

1. Cloudflare automatically assigns nameservers to a domain and these assignments cannot be changed.
2. Any registrar can take down your domain.
