Ubuntu 13.10 GNOME/Unity over VNC/x2go/etc?
Anyone got GNOME or Unity in Ubuntu 13.10 working over VNC, x2go, etc? Seems to be a bug with the latest version of GNOME not supporting 2d, non-accelerated mode. VNC log has something along the lines of software acceleration not supported. Did some googling and found a lot of people with the same problem but no solution. Only alternative I can find is to use the XFCE desktop.

Yeah unity 2d is dead. Better to install 12.04, still works great.
Or you could install xubuntu, that comes with XFCE by default
Yep, XFCE is what I ended up going with. Headless VirtualBox works pretty well.
