Want to Test Dedicated Servers/CPUs for 24 Hours - Ryzen 7000 Series + | Willing to Pay for the Time
Is anyone willing to work with me to provide a server with any of the following CPUs for around 24 hours for me to run a few video encoding Python scripts to benchmark the server against my old dedicated servers from other providers here on LET? Currently my 2 X E5-2690v4 (28C/56T) servers isnt cutting it against the new Ryzens for Video Encoding.
The encoding should not take more than 2 hours in total, so dont need it for 24 hours anyway.
I'm willing to pay for the time it takes to setup or the 24 hour access, but not looking for a month's commitment. Simple Python needed and no special Bandwidth, Storage or RAM needed.
I may proceed to go full time with the server once its within my $50 to $90 USD/Month budget and I'm happy with its performance
Requirements of the server is:
Geekbench 6 Single Score of at least 2,500
Geekbench 6 Multi Score of at least 12,000
Any of the following CPUs I know can hit those numbers.
AMD Ryzen 5 7600X (6c/12T) GB6 - 2825 Single | 12962 Multi
AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 8700GE (8C/16T) GB6 - 2879 Single | 13097 Multi
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (8c/16T) GB6 - 2880 Single | 14968 Multi
AMD Ryzen 9 7900 (12c/24T) GB6 - 2852 Single | 16837 Multi
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X (12c/24T) GB6 - 2959 Single | 17989 Multi
AMD Ryzen 9 7950x (16c/32T) GB6 - 2986 Single | 19483 Multi
The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 8700GE I can get from Hetzner but not willing to pay for a whole month to test for 24 hours to get a benchmark and some numbers.

Hetzner it's hour bling for dedicated servers
From this link, its 46 Euros / Month with a 39 Euro Setup Fee..
https://www.hetzner.com/dedicated-rootserver/ax42/
Unless you have some special link to an hourly billing with No Setup Fees on AX line at Hetzner?
Wouldn't having a GPU help better than CPU encoding?
The quality you get from CPU encoding is much better quality output from my testing for our needs. In any event, GPU servers are more expensive than pure CPU based servers.
So strictly looking at CPU options atm. Thanks
@CherryServers has 7700x dedicated server available at hourly rate.
I think you can check on cherryservers, hourly billing no setup fee dedicated(?) avalaible
Nope. GPU lowers the time but also lowers the quality.
CPU quality outperforms GPU in this case.
can I ask why CPU outperforms GPU in this case? Just curious, not any meaning comment.
Lots of info here: https://chipsandcheese.com/2022/03/30/gpu-hardware-video-encoders-how-good-are-they/
TL;DR is that CPUs enable very general and complex math, whereas for GPUs you have to conform to the hardware. Reference encoders are also built as software for CPUs. However for many cases you can't tell the difference, depending on your file size allowance.
How about a AMD 5700u?
AMD Ryzen 7 5700U @ 4.3GHz
16GB RAM
1TB NVMe
1 IPv4 Address
/64 IPv6 Address
1Gbps Unmetered Bandwidth (Be a friendly neighbor)
First Month is prorated after the 6th & will be charged the following month.

Yeah thank you, just look through your links
Vultr offers hourly billing and dedicated servers. Seen EPYC, not sure about Ryzen.
I'll DM you, got some Ryzens available for the duration you're looking for.
@Mevspace have 48h for 1€ dedi new "costumers" (I hope you have your costume) clients only, but it's "Contact us" rather than click via WHMCS.

On clore.ai you can rent it for 5000-10000 satoshi(~3-6$)/day
provider looks really sketchy. i'd stay away from it.
Thanks for the mention! We have quite a few 7700x systems available for 0.294 USD/hr.
Check them out here
Looks like a copy of vast.ai
No sorry, that isn't meeting the single core performance needed.
I'll test the CherryServers and see.
Anyone has a good 7000 series server for under 100usd/m in the USA?
Not 7000 series but:

@NetDynamics24
Messaged them already. @georgedatacenter did also have at some point, but he is MIA for a while on LET.
Thanks for the mention.
We do have the 7600 for only $69/mo:
https://netdynamics24.com/client/order.php?step=1&productGroup=10
However, the minimum contract we offer is one month, because we have to custom build each server which requires some labor time.
But I am willing to do an exception here because of your mention

Not under $100 though. Instant setup in multiple data centers.
@trinifella
You may want to consider Intel Core i9 or better, if the primary use case is video encoding

Thanks @NetDynamics24 for the short term rental of a 7900. So far its out performing the 7700X from Cherry Servers, which is a huge releif.
@dev_vps, if I can get a matching 13 or 14 get i7 or i9 server priced at $125 USD or under a month, then for sure Intel can outperform AMD in x264 encoding.
But for the price and keeping in a budget, nothing beats Ryzen.
So far, I'm narrowing down my choices to the 7900 or 7900X (yet to test this out) or even the 7950x (but I doubt I getting that at $150 or under)..
Pebblehost @dann00 has 7950x at $149, they also have Ryzen 9000 series at really good prices. Avoro @dataforest has 13th gen dedicated server but it starts at 145 eur.
If you would like to test i9-14900K let me know.
