Free Uptime Monitoring

MrRadicMrRadic Host Rep, Veteran
edited September 10 in Giveaways & Freebies

Been working on a new project to get free uptime monitoring to the masses. 100% free forever, no paid tiers.

This is still in very early stages, so it's still light on features and there may be some minor bugs here and there. It's in constant development, so we're actively adding features and enhancements.

https://www.alerts.net/

If you happen to reach the max contacts / monitors, let me know, it can be increased. We're still playing around with initial limits.

PS - This is unrelated to RS (beyond some infrastructure being provided by RS).

I spun up a discord server to help track all of these requests and feedback.

    Crazy domain name. (Wait, that's a domain registrar lol).

  • What is the minimum interval between checks?

    Noice and clean design, but UX details not thought well enough. I can't push on logo and go back to index. Wtf. Placeholder for "http://" should be "https://".

    Few questions:

    • Front-end stack?
    • Monitoring system stack? Python, Go or any other?
    • Server infra?

  • Three-Letter Agency is asking to buy that domain name for billions!!!

  • For the Web/Http monitor - https://www. seems to be automatically added and there is no way to remove it.

  • Now that's a nice domain :o

    Minor bug: It won't let me put an IP address as it always automatically prepends https://www. :*

    Holy molly, game braking bug:

    • Enforced https://www.
    • Unable to delete account. Received code, entered and: "An error occurred. Please try again.".

    This is insane. I have CNAME for www pointing to https://domain.tld. Why the hell should I monitor www. ?

    Yet again, "Web/http" naming in monitor type.

    Very basic functionality. Lightyears behind uptimerobot or free hetrix version. Suggestion:

    • Slap basically functional project;
    • Gather client account for a few years;
    • Sell it for 100 000 EUR to monitoring giants such as pingdom, uptime robot etc.

    I found a workaround. Just add any random domain first. Then you can edit and remove the https://www.

    Monitoring giants started somewhere too, over time we'll get there.
    Monitoring giants don't offer free monitoring for life.

  • Any planned option to add alert endpoints other than email?

  • On this screenshot it shows CPU & RAM monitoring, will this be included in feature updates ? I was looking for something like this, just basic RAM & CPU usage and show it on a public status page.

  • What about 30 seconds instead 60? There are some free services which offer 30 seconds like uptime-monitor.io

    Good way to get more people to sign up is: promise lifetime "premium" subscription for beta testers.

  • Is there a plan to release it on github eventually, so people can self-host it?
