Appreciation Post
I just want to take a moment to give a massive shoutout to some amazing providers who helped me sponsor bunch of servers for Arch Linux mirrors. A big thank you to @AlbaHost , @dataforest , @DigiRDP , @host_c , and @torchbyte for their support!!
The servers provided are solid and fast af, and are handling around 2.5~3TB of traffic per day combined. Your generosity has made a huge difference in keeping the Arch Linux mirrors up and running smoothly. It's amazing to see such a strong community come together to support open-source projects like this.
If anyone wants to use the mirrors, have a look at https://archlinux.org/mirrors/niranjan.co/. To check the uptime of individual servers, visit https://status.niranjan.co/. Note that uptime here reflects the last 30 days due to a switch to a different uptime status service.
I'm still looking for more servers to help distribute the load even further. If anyone else is interested in sponsoring VPS'es check your PMs, I might have already sent you messages about this. Thanks again, everyone! Your help is greatly appreciated.

Congrats guys!
Ah crap! I completely missed you, didn't I?
See you in DM haha
@niranjan, is this a passion project or there is some personal benefit in this ?
Also, is there any benefit for Hosts other then this shoutout ?
I am hoping to finish working on the bash scripts for the versions I mirror that will simply let people wget/curl the file to replace their current mirrors file with the ones from my mirror to make it just a little easier to update the mirrors list
@dustinc there should be enough free ressources on one of your host nodes
Great! You might want to open a issue on the Arch Mirror Gitlab to get your mirror listed in the official Mirrors.
Good luck !
Already sent you a PM ! Thanks! > @Saahib said:
Hello,
This is a 100% passion project and there is no personal benefit whatsoever. The servers are only running nginx and rsync. Also, I use Arch btw.
Regarding the benefit part, there's a back link to the host on the mirror page, you can have a look at it any of the mirror URL(eg. de.arch.niranjan.co).
I've already sent him an E-mail a few days back.
Can a privat individual also support this project and if yes, how? What are the server requirements? What else do you need?
Hello,
Yes, individuals can absolutely support this project! Since the VPS will primarily be serving static content and running background processes like rsync, the compute requirements are relatively low. However, storage needs can vary as the package sizes are updated frequently. At the moment, the mirror size is approximately 100GB, but this will likely increase over time.
As a guideline, I prefer a VPS with 2 CPU cores, 2GB of RAM, and around 130GB of storage. These aren't official requirements, but I find them to be a suitable setup for handling the current and future demands of the project. You can find more details on https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/DeveloperWiki:NewMirrors.
You can set-up the server and create an issue on the Arch Linux Mirror Gitlab to get your mirror listed, or simply create a nginx conf with my domain and I'll list the mirror it under my domain.
I will get around to that today.
Thanks
Yes, I see you are using url shortner for those backlink with 302 redirects.
Sent in my request and added the bash scripts

@gbzret4d -- we wouldn't mind helping a good cause
@niranjan -- I'll be replying to your e-mail shortly on what we could offer.
Good catch, but those are not affiliate links, those are just for tracking clicks if any of the people click on the links.
I see your point, why didn't I think about this before 🤐, updating the links right away.
Thanks! > @xHosts said:
Great! Not it's a patience game, it takes around a week to a few weeks for the dev to to add your mirror! > @dustinc said:
Thanks! Already recieved the e-mail!
Will the provider add Arch templates?
How can I add same uptime data for my vps in my website?
????
What do you mean?? If you're talking about contributing resources, I can just create a monitor to keep an eye on the VPS using the public IP address.
Thanks for the shoutout @niranjan
Glad we could help
@niranjan
Thank you for mentioning us.
I'd also like to express my gratitude to my fellow providers for their involvement.
I'm happy we could contribute something valuable to the open-source community.
