You'd be surprised to know that 800G is just around the corner, then.

  • $400 is pretty good for what you offer. Overkill for me but good deal nonetheless

    Can you do 20U?

  • Impressed about the ability to connect to so many IXs. After HE has increased their colo promotion plan to $600/m last month, this might be the cheapest full cabinet colo option in the US AFAIK.

Yeah but if you go with max speed, it's about 40-42 GB/s, How is storage setup to handle this speed? or are there another use case for this kind of network speed? I just curious, because I dont even see this speed in my life

The idea is that you connect it to your own switch, then you can have 100+ servers sharing that 400 Gbps. That's easily doable.

Oh I see, so that's 400Gbps is shared across server that connected to a switch instead of having using full 400Gbps on a single machine and ultilize it. Thank you

There are single servers that can use 400G/800G that exist. Just a less common configuration.

This is the smallest colo we do. I think, if you compare it to other offers out there, you'll find it's cheaper than a half rack at most places.

If you REALLY just want 20U, there are several places advertising here that resell our cabinets.

To the rack... Doesn't need to be a single server, although they do exist..

I've thought several times of getting a full rack, but I never figured out what router to buy, as I'm not a router expert. Are there any recommendations on a budget (relatively, of course) rack mount router?

The smaller guys we have either just deploy a switch and let us route or the drop in something small like a Mikrotik or Ubiquity.
