It's not a justification :) just a suggestion for making your VPS even cheaper if they offer a 20% top-up bonus or similar on Black Friday. Top up €48 to get an extra €12 in credit, which brings the cost of your VPS down to €4/year instead of €5/year.

If things stay stable as they are and the host doesn't go bankrupt (sorry, @ProHosting24 - that's a possibility I always take into account with relatively young companies), this might be one of the best VPS deals I've made recently.

Where exactly do I need to adjust my VPS to get the pricing down to 4€ per year? I'm gonna take 100 of these. Thanks.

    I mentioned it twice :pensive:

@Mumbly said: I used the 20% top-up bonus when it was available, which made the deal even better. Pay attention around Black Friday to see if they offer something similar. It could make your VPS even cheaper.

Keep an eye on their Black Friday deals to see if they offer that bonus again.

Btw. @Multi why I am getting "Permission Problem You don't have permission to do that" when I click on your profile? :P

Yeah it's because of my username. It's somehow banned from registering in Vanilla Forum software. That restriction has been added to a newer version after I took that name in this forum (registered in 2013). I can't even watch my own profile.

Yeah, but Martin is old :p

We've recently seen the arrival of several young CEOs who started their Minecraft server businesses in their teens a few years ago and have now expanded their offerings to VPS hosting. They came to LET and failed.
I'm not saying this is the story of ProHosting24, I mean, I have my money here, which requires a certain level of trust, and I hope for the best. But one should always be wary that things may go down (with every host) - that's why we are doing backups.

Right now, their server is a keeper, and if things stay that way in the future, I will be nothing but a happy client :)

I've seen my share in the last 2 years... And I'm sure LET members who have been here for a longer time have seen much more...

But, no, I don't think you will go under, I was just kidding.

What are you even talking about? The price is €5 monthly. Do you mean for 2 months (for two VPSes)?

I was positive (and still am, unless something terrible goes wrong), while @hyperblast on the other hand, wasn't so much :p

Anyway, it's time for you to stop being butthurt.

So called "Deadpool" has been a regular companion of LET/LEB since its early beginnings. Over the years, we've seen many hosts come and go. There are many different reasons for this, but the main ones are competing with unsustainable prices, companies often being one-man shows dependent on a single person, lack of experience, rising IP prices, and so on ...
It's just a matter of time before the next big drama with hundreds of clients getting pissed off pops up.

I believe i have issues geting the point, so you are basically saying that if our deal was posted only on LET then it‘s perceived as more dangerous to buy because you‘re suspecting that the only customers the company has are LET users which pay not enough to keep things running?

That would make sense to me, but it sounds kind of weird to me to base all asumptions solely on the fact of a posting being LET exclusive or not. We actually posted on LET, MyDealz, Discord and Twitter.

But i saw a lot providers come and go without even knowing LET until last year.

But i can tell you that it‘s very hard to tell which providers are trustworthy and which not.

All reputable companies that i know personally that exist on LET aswell are using debt at some point inlcuding us.

I can‘t give you any numbers but i can share some insights with you.

Especially for companys with a prepaid system and customer credit it is very important to monitor the amount of credit on all accounts as well as the amount of all active services to have a feeling what users are spending on your services monthly. But you will also need to keep track how long services are prepaid.
We do all of the above and have a grafana dashboard which helps at monitoring cashflow developments.
This way we calculate a predicted cashflow for the next 30 days with >90% accuracy.

But this is not everything, you still want to make sure that you have a lot hardware that you really own without extra debt and that you don’t fill your nodes with garbage offers.

You always have to consider prepaid services and customer credit as debt for its own already and then everything that comes on top like future tax payments, real debt or already (un)planned expenses which are inevitable like the ones caused by growth. :)

Actually sad to see so much people failing, one reason more to be always polite and helpful. You will receive a lot help from your competitors if you provide them help as well. I guess a lot people don’t really get that and rather decide to fight against them selves and competition although it could be much easier for themselves.

It's actually a very simple concept. LET primarily catters to LE i.e. Low End segment of the hosting market. Couple this with very low entry barrier for an inexperienced wanna-be hoster. This creates a heavy competition of such and quite often it's the price of the products that needs to go down when someone wants to be really aggressive and popular. Then, for a while it works...

But, while you're a proper business and you obviously monitor your cash flow and plan your expenses, many of LE hosters simply don't. So, many of them miscalculate and are soon bankrupt. Or drowned in support requests. Or have sudden unplanned expenses which they can't pay. Or a combination of multiple factors...

Exactly, the local family court declared me to be fully legally competent in the context of my self-employment in accordance with section 112 of the civil code.

This way, I was able to register the company, request the comapny’s VAT number and set up the bank account myself without having to involve my parents in these steps.

This was very beneficial as they are not native German speakers and are not familiar with the stuff I had to get done
