Looking for high performance VPS in SG/JP region.

Hello, I was using a VPS in Frankfurt (Germany), but the VPS is far away from where I live (about 300ms latency) and I wanted to run a gaming (Minecraft) server on it. I've been trying for weeks to find high-performance VPS deals in East Asia, but they're all US/Europe based, so I thought I'd write a request. Single-threaded performance will be important for my server, and I'd like to check it out, even if it's a bit out of my budget. Thanks for all the help!

(I used a translator to write this discussion. I think it translated well, but I'm not sure, If any of my sentences seem rude, please let me know and I'll fix them!)

CPU: High performance Ryzen (preferred) CPU 4.0Ghz+
Usage purpose: To run a few Minecraft Java Edition servers and a website that includes socket communication.
(CPU usage is likely to be somewhere between 4-50% of the total on average, and even if it reaches 100%, I don't think it will stay there for long.)

Location: Singapore or Japan

VZ Type: KVM

Number of Cores: 4 or 6 (I'd like to be able to increase this for an additional fee.)
RAM: 24gb
Disk Space: 200GB (I'd like to be able to increase this for an additional fee)
Disk Type: SSD preferred

Bandwidth: 2 TB (I'm not sure of the network cost, I'd like to be able to increase it for an additional fee.)
Port Speed: 1gbps or higher
Number of IPs: 1

Budget: $15/mo (SG), $20/mo (Japan)

Billing period: Monthly

  • you need to increase the budget for those specs

Thank you so much for the advice. I've bumped it up a bit because I'm on a tight budget.

  • Have you tried Oracle Free Tier? It's ARM but the performance is pretty good in my experience.

Yes, the first one I tried was the Oracle free tier. It was all good, but the lack of single-core power made in-game map generation very slow, with occasional lag spikes.

  • You either need to bump your budget a bit more or lower your specs.

Very unrealistic budget for the specs requested, unless you are looking for old hardware, maybe others might do it.

  • I think I've gotten my requirements and usages way off budget. I'm running the server as a hobby, so I think it's unfeasible to increase budget at the moment. thank you so much for all your help. I will prepare the requirements more reasonably later. thanks!

    Public , pvp or modded?

My Oracle ARM can gen up to 100-200 chunk/s along with mod content tick and still running acceptable tps

1.21.1, smp server with added teleport between players. When players were flying around equipping elytra, the speed of chunk generation was far short. (only happened when it was a chunk that had never been before), It seemed to me that only six to seven chunks per second were generated.

Did you try PaperSpigot, chunk generation should be more optimized.

    Increase the budget for sure.

Impossible to offer a 24GB Ryzen in Singapore or Tokyo for $15-$20 a month! :D

Yes, I used Pufferfish bukkit, which is forked from paper.

  • your budget is quite unusual , hope you can find it

    Thanked by 1Ballinwrld
  • increase your budget for that region. or lower your specs for your budget.
