960 Days with RansomIT: An Underrated Gem in Asia-Pacific 🚀
Hello LET,
Hope you guys are doing great. Today I decided to write a review about RansomIT, a provider that tends to be overlooked and under-appreciated on LET. That’s the main reason behind this review.
Back in December 2021, I was searching for a dedicated server in Asia (including Pacific countries). I was already familiar with RansomIT thanks to LET. After checking their inventory, I opted for an AMD Ryzen 3900X server in their Perth location. It’s been 960 days, and I’ve been a super happy customer. Here are some key points about my experience:
Uptime:
I have never needed to reboot the server, didn't bother for distro version upgrades either. It’s still running Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS.
root@xxxxx:~# uptime
XX:XX:XX up 957 days
I can’t recall any major or minor network outage. While there may have been minor disruptions, none were significant enough to remember.
Support:
Initially, I needed assistance to mount the Ubuntu ISO. Their support staff, Brendan, helped promptly and professionally without any delays. Since then, I haven’t had to create any support tickets for issues. I did open a few sales tickets, all of which were promptly handled by Oliver Ransom.
Billing:
I’ve been paying monthly from the start. Despite often being late on payments, I’ve never been charged late fees as far as I remember.
Feedback:
I’ve been extremely satisfied with the server and the rock-solid service. I would recommend RansomIT any day if you’re looking for stable services. While you might be concerned about overpaying, I believe the price is justified given the location, hardware, and overall service quality.

Note: My goal with this review is purely to express appreciation for an exceptional service provider and help others find a reliable option. No drama intended.
P.S. Don't be misled by the name!

180$\month. That’s crazy expensive for given specs. But hey, uptime is uptime!
Indeed
Their pricing is indeed for uptime, server specs are just bonus
I’m curious why they chose such a name for their hosting company. Big ransomware fans?
Company owner is Chris Ransom.
They are great for anyone looking for dedicated servers in Asia and Oceania regions.
It's pretty standard for APAC, unfortunately, very few providers in that region

@yoursunny
Thanks for your input.
When can we expect you to restock your Cloud Servers?
Thanks for this post @wa44io4
We have flown under the radar a bit in the LEB area because I am not particularly active here; but the VPS offerings we started with many years ago grew thanks to support from this community before we offered dedicated servers. Now we mainly do dedicated/colo and other infrastructure services in the region.
And yes as someone said my surname is Ransom hence the business name.
What about a $7/yr VPS deal
You haven't posted anything since 2020, give us something special
He did offers on LET but stopped them for a while.
I wasn't on LET at that time
Also happy with RansomIT. VPS quality has been high.
I had tried to more to another cheaper low-end provider in the Pacific which had a Black Friday sale, but it's been a major disappointment. The other company has been very unreliable and I've not been able to use it for anything but a standby/backup. While Ransom's prices aren't as low-end as when I first signed up, I have yet to find another quality host in the region.
