Which live chat system do you use?

UchihaUchiha Member

which live chat widget do you use for your business? Do you self-host it or use third parties? I'm looking for a reliable and stable live chat widget that doesn't cost a lot.

A third-party recommendation is to use tawk.to as it is free, but if you want to remove the "Powered by" advertisement, self-hosting Chatwoot is the most economical option. Both should offer good stability, though the stability of self-hosting largely depends on the quality of the VPS.

    https://www.tawk.to/
    https://crisp.chat/nl/

Tawk.to is completely free and Crisp has a free plan. Both are worth checking out

Self-hosting live chats is quite messy, especially if for e.g. you have downtime and at that time you should be reachable one way or another

Chatwoot requires a VPS with at least 4GB of RAM and currently only supports PostgreSQL. also, I don't believe you can't remove the Chatwoot branding. (At least by default, you have to modify the source code)

We publish our telephone number and there's a button for voice call.
Why chat if you can voice?

From a customer perspectiva bear in mind that IS better to not have a chat than a chat with no active operators. Ticket system is better working than chats if you do not have enough time/operators etc

    No porn watcher??

Now you have to do double push-ups.

  • Tawk.to is great, but it looks very similar. Every third website seems to be using it. Also even if you have paid addons, it seems like a free one.

GetGist, Crisp or try Charla appsumo ltd.

We completely stand by this statement. Most of the time, live chats are not instant or within a reasonable time 24/7, making live chats worse for the customer experience and their opinion of the company. I'd also like to add that multiple support systems only add complexity and draw your attention away. It's also annoying that it only costs more to use Crisp with next to no benefits over a traditional ticket and email system.

We are creating our own panels, which means we'll make our own ticket system.

Chatwoot does not provide a white-label feature if you do not pay for Enterprise.

Self-hosting system are not so good.

The costly part is the person to answer the chats..

    And proper record of interactions.

Chat people tend to try and answer everything themselves by guessing when they don't know, potentially giving the customer bad information, leading to lost sales because the customer was told you don't have x feature when you do or very unhappy customers because they were told you do have x feature when you do not.

    Intercom for 2 main reasons;

    1. You can combine your email and multiple social media DMs into your live chat so if someone sends an email or a DM to your Instagram, you'll receive them in your Intercom inbox which you can answer directly.
    2. Customers can freely switch between email or direct live chat in your website for the same conversation. This is eliminating the need for a ticket system since Intercom can act like both. If for instance you send a live chat reply to the customer and they're offline and don't see it for the next 2 minutes, Intercom sends your reply as email to the customer. Then the customer can either continue the conversation from email or live chat, simultaneously.

For those who still wants the good old ancient ticketing system, Intercom recently added that feature too.

I don't think most people realize how Intercom works so they think it's just another live chat system. It's way more than that. Once you go Intercom, you'll soon realize that every other live chat system out there is just that; a live chat system only.

I know it sounds like I'm shilling Intercom but I give where credit is due. We've been using Intercom for the last 6 years and couldn't be more happier with a service.

  • Tawk.to is pretty solid. Never had any issues with it, easy to use.

    We watch WAM content.

Now you have to do double push-ups.

Unable to push-up due to shoulder injury.
We don't skip the weekly leg day but now they primarily consist of leg curls and leg extensions on cable machine.

You can remove from source code because chatwoot allowed it

Here is source code to remove:https://github.com/chatwoot/chatwoot/blob/40bd79f1ca75fae8e12f35509200d327adae2d0e/app/javascript/dashboard/components/widgets/conversation/conversation/LabelSuggestion.vue#L217-L224s/convers
