DDoS Protected GRE Tunnel required

V_OV_O Member
edited July 27 in General

I am currently in search of a provider that specializes in offering DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) protected GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation) tunnels. The ideal provider should have the capability to filter and mitigate attacks with a bandwidth capacity of up to 100 gigabits per second (Gbit/s). Additionally, it is crucial that the service can ensure the delivery of clean, uninterrupted traffic at a sustained rate of 100 megabits per second (Mbit/s). If you could recommend a service that meets these specific requirements, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm most intressted in Europe as location for the GRE tunnel. Besides I need IPv4 and IPv6 support.

Which location (Europe, Americas) are you looking for exactly?

@RoyaleHosting maybe you guys could help him out?

They’ve stopped big attacks up to 250Gb/s on some of my servers. So i could vouch for them.
They are located in Amsterdam and New York

Sadly enough we do not offer tunneling services, but the OP would be able to order a service and run their own tunnel on that service :)

We offer it as a standard service.

    Location is Frankfurt

Pay-as-you-go includes 120TB Traffic for 120 EUR monthly.

Either with BGP or with multiple IPs that you can rent from us.

I believe that @Francisco BuyVM supports GRE tunnels.

That's fine for a few IP's. While you can do BGP + GRE, we don't have firewall control for users.

The OP should talk to Path, CosmicGuard, etc, for mitigation. They should expect to pay thousands per month for that level of mitigation.

    @AS203446 :

Can I signup anonymously for your service ? No Name, no Payment details, only Crypto (Monero)?

This is not for Porn or so, just scrubbing a service that is important to me.

    Thanks in advance :)

In theory, yes. There is no need for your name. How many IPs do you need? Also, which service are you running?

This is https only ... I asume you meant this by service, right? if not, this is API/JSON only stuff going trough the GRE, no Media stuff or so. In general I don't think that I need much IP adresses, I have 3 API gateways in need to protect in the end. So I would need 3x IPv4 adresses and 3x Ipv6 adresses ... maybe a /29 or so would already be fine.

Besides, can you add details to the network, I'm talking about the contact details you get from a whois database, would be cool if I could set my very own name here. But this is optional for me.

We do not protect against HTTPs floods, so if you are looking for some kind of HTTP/HTTPS request mitigation, you might need to look for another provider.

Cloudflare might be your option for HTTPS.

Can also try ddos-guard for 80/443

  • V_OV_O Member

CloudFlare... No, I dont want to get a Mail from there sales team after I shifted a couple of Terrabytes over there network and get a bill of 120k (please see YouTube). CloudFlare isnt something for me. And DDOS-Guard ... You folks know who is operating this network right? -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDoS-Guard

I don't do any business with russians companies, I wont even give them a single penny.

Otherwise go with a company like AWS as they got big pipes to absorb an attack.
But what makes me scratch my head is you mention a sustained traffic of only 100Mbps but over 100Gbps attack absorb ability.
Those are 2 quite big differences.
Not quite sure if there's a Low End solution for you on this quest of yours.

Does make me wonder what exactly this service is though.

Yes, and works very well. They have stopped some large attacks on our sites, 0 downtime :)

    But hey you do you.

The solution can't be to either shift all my data through a Russian DC or a US based company that uses weirdo business strategies to pull the money out of my pockets. Sorry but no ... ^^

What kind of service ... As already said --> API

An API won't take up much traffic in general as most requests are just a couple of kilobytes in since as it's just text (JSON), some only less than 1KB per request ... So why would I need 10, 25 or even 100 Gbit/s of clean traffic, I don't run a CDN here or so? 100-250 Mbit/s should be more than sufficient as long as the Filter capacity available is high enough ...

  • tentortentor Member, Host Rep

If this is API, are you sure you want HTTPS protection? If not in all but in most cases, all known filters require JS to detect if visitor is a bot. This is not applicable for API because realistically all requests are made by automated software (bots).

Why not buy a vps somewhere that has great ddos protection and then setup a GRE Tunnel yourself? Like what Royale also told you ^

Cloudflare doesn't care about your API servers/endpoints.

They only care if you carry streaming/media content or running high-risk services under their IP (gambling/betting sites, etc.)

Unless you're running high-risk services... then it's a different story.

Checked my stats and I'm carrying 40Tb/mo on a $25/mo plan.
