Need Assistance in Managing New ASN, and need dedicated server provider too. Please help

Sumit_Sumit_ Member

Hi All,
Sorry to be a Noob, as I am no expert in networking. But I need the Following:

I have a brand new ASN, I have a provider who leases me IPV6/29. I have managed to get some.

Now what I need is, I want to use my ASN with those IPV6 but I need to use them with dedicated servers from other providers, as I don't have any colo or anything like that right now.

I don't know if I will need an upstream partner or not, and I don't have any experience with BGP routing and stuff.

So I need a person who can guide me or set things up for me, whatever is needed.

Now as for a dedicated server, I need the following:

Unmetered 1gbps **Must
Debian or Alma Linux
Allows to use two IPV6/32 per server.
Must configure the server so I can use the assigned subnet as a proxy.

Configuration Needs:
1 dedicated IPV4
Main IPv6: Your-IPV6::2/126
Gateway: Your-IPV6::1
Routed Subnet: My-IPV6::/32

6 core (2.8 GHZ + or similar)
Ram 32G

SSD - any size no issue but 480 would be good.

I can also work with a provider who allows their ASN with my IPV6.

My Usecase:
I am not a proxy seller or anything of that sort. I need this for my personal limited use, I will use all these proxies with my 100+ dedi with Hetzner.

I will be needing multiple servers not just one, and will be 20+ in a few months.

I need people who respond quickly when there is downtime, or if any updates provider should alert me beforehand. Also should not change the config or anything that makes those ranges unreachable. Because everything will be running 24*7.

I need some reliable people, who can help me with this.

Budget:
I am not looking for dirt-cheap or too-expensive servers. I just need stable service and I am ok to pay whatever it takes, and I am looking for direct sellers, not resellers.

Before I was using a third party to get everything done but the services had been unstable and there was a gap in our communication. so now I want to manage all by myself so I can contact the server provider directly without any delays when I need any assistance. Everything is dependent on these servers, and all the downtime costs me a lot because all my dedi on Hetzner works with these.

I hope I will find some reliable people over here.

Many Thanks.

    Why and how did you managed to get an asn if you have no knowledge how to use it? How much does it cost?

    @Levi
    because many provider's asn had been flagged as spam, and I don't want to get flagged as spam for other people's behavior, That is why I decided to get my own ASN. I am a developer so maybe I don't know networking stuff much but I researched a lot and got to know what I need. There are many people around here as well that provide LIR service, all u need valid company documents and you are good to go, I have got it through a third party for $300, even though I knew how much it's gonna cost, but I just thought that I will get help in setting things up which is m not getting because of his issues with his internet in his country we can't get in touch enough.

    But I got it sponsored by NOPKT, Asn sponsoring costs around 60-100 per year and you also get IPV6/48 with it.

    Most providers are marked as spam if they are letting someone put a /32 IPv6 onto a single server. :)

  • Plot twist: he has an IPV4/29.

    Also, I thought mail servers preferred IPv4 and tended to treat IPv6 as spam more often than IPV4?

    "personal limited use, I will use all these proxies with my 100+ dedi with Hetzner."

    I call shenanigans. Personal limited use my fat ass.

    Sponsor me the $75 RIPE tax of AS200690 and I can help you with your ASN (install bird and have the prefix show up; proxy is not in my appetite).

    For dedicated server buy an m1.medium here:

    Give me $75 for my vyvanse addiction and ill install Bird, setup the network and write a bash script to generate the SOCKS proxies as you need

    really? what up with all that negativity? do you think I would have made such a detailed post if I intended to commit a crime?

    Nope. That's not the reason. And I don't mean they are marked as spam everywhere, it is just for specific things, and no I don't do any mailing stuff or anything. No Abuse of any kind.

    Never had any issues or complaints with any provider, the issue is only that I want to experience everything myself so that I can learn, and go directly with providers, so I can just contact them directly when needed.

    I will move to Colo, so learning all this is crucial for me at first.

    You need a provider(s) that will allow BGP sessions, after that you have a LOT of reading to do.

    @Sumit_

    I'm curious about how much does your IPv6 /29 prefix cost?

    That's really a very huge amount of addresses. Do you want to announce it at once?

  • Hello Contact me.
    we will help you step by step for free and we can connect your ASN on our network for 10€

    Things you should know.

    Most providers here won't be taking the risk and could suspend or terminate you at the middle of the month without providing any refund.

    Your requirements are very complicated for most LET providers just to understand. You will be needing constant support that pretty much all LET providers won't be able provide.

    Recommendations: Stick with your current provider. Give him some time to get things settled. Things could be much worse with a new provider if they are not offering you 24/7 proactive fully managed support and just don't know how a routed configuration for proxy server has to be setup.

    Additionally if anyone is interested,

    I can offer 1G/10G Unmetered Servers with /24 to /20 IPv4 range and /32-/29 IPv6 in US & EU locations. For any legal use case including proxy, email & VPN.

    ASN Registration for $300 onetime+$100/year fee. (Everything is done on your behalf)

    We can also manage your own ASN, IP ranges, announcements, VLANs etc.

    HostCram LLC > https://www.hostcram.com

    Additional Notes,

    BIRD isn't recommended for @Sumit_ 's setup assuming he will want to use at least 20K IPv6 addresses from each range. Switches will just hang. Routes will get fucked up causing network outages due to something like ARP limitations.

    What do you mean? This has never happened to any of my customers whatsoever when setting up their dedicated servers with this sort of configuration.

    For OP:
    If you'd like any guidance for this, drop me a DM and I can sort you out with a provider and I will guide you through each step for free - feeling a bit generous today :)
