wait and see... @dev_vps my vps also managed 4 days and then it started. node broken. elaborate windows installation could not be restored, only a bare debian 12. now they are under observation and then maybe a few power users (dev_vps) will keep it running? i don't know and don't really want to work with assumptions. my disappointment is still great.

    My VPS just crashed.
Sent a long message to support and cancelled the VPS

We don't see any crashes. I recommend you check the logs of your vps

That VPS was with a different provider.

things here getting mixed! @dev_vps is talking about ht-hsoting and not about evohosting.

My VPS was restarted by support and it still has windows running.

May be because I don’t install windows from provider panel

I will share when it crashes next. It seems, it is not a question of “if”, it is more of “when”

This is not possible on 1 gb Linux OS.

I tried it again... it is and remains buggy!

Error: cURL Error: Failed to connect to pve-proxy.ht-hosting.de port 8443: No route to host

nothing seems to run smoothly there. a pity. and also strange, since dataforest's otherwise solid technology is basically used.

a simple reinstallation of a debian 12 takes forever or does not work. something has hung up. previously the attempt to install a windows server 2022 standard did not work either.

I tried getting a server from them not too long ago, and the initial setup didn't even work.

I received an email with the IP and credentials, but the IP was offline and their control panels said the server did not exist. After creating a ticket, they said I must check again, and nothing changed. Eventually after some more back and forth in the ticket, they got the new server provisioned.

    @hyperblast
HT-hosting vps is still holding its ground with high cpu tasks.

I am deliberately using Windows 11 Enterprise OS as it is far more resource hungry as compared to Windows Server 2022 (the one I use for server tasks and RDP)

My originally installed OS and data stayed fine with vps restarts.

Ht-Hosting seems to be crapping out @hyperblast

My VPS with them went from original spec to 1gb ram and 1 core when reinstalling using templates :D and portal was down yesterday.

any news / experience with this provider? @acchief

I've been using HT-Hosting and EvosHosting for the same amount of time and currently have three servers with them: one for rclone configs, one for a Windows server, and one for testing purposes. Here's my detailed experience (I've used AI to clean up wording, and format it better. However the facts are all truthful and not generated):

    Performance

    • Rclone Config Server: This server is performing very well. The disk and network speeds are impressive for the price.
    • Windows Server: I installed Windows 11 on it, and it has been stable and reliable. However, their system for installing Windows is quite cumbersome. Instead of a straightforward template, you have to manually install the OS and VirtIO drivers, and there's no proper guide to help with this process. The knowledgebase tutorial is outdated and poorly written, with many broken image links.

    Control Panel Issues

The online control panel is problematic. It's often slow and constantly loading. Reinstalling the OS can sometimes reconfigure the VPS to a default of 1 core and 1GB RAM, which is frustrating. One of my servers is currently inaccessible due to a botched reinstall, leaving it without OpenSSH server installed, and a bad reconfig.

    Support and Communication

Their support and communication leave much to be desired. The Discord server is chaotic, with customers helping each other more than the staff. The staff’s English proficiency is limited, complicating support requests. However, I’ve had more success by using ChatGPT to translate my support tickets into German. There was an incident where all servers went offline in the early AM, but they were back up within a few hours, however there wasn't any notification as to why/how it happened.

    Personal Incidents

I had an issue where the OS templates reconfigured my VPS to 1 core and 1GB RAM upon reinstalling. I asked support to reinstall a specific server, and despite emphasizing which server to leave alone, they almost reinstalled my Windows server. Since using German translations for support, communication has improved significantly.

    Future Improvements

They mentioned upcoming maintenance to migrate servers to a new "panel," which might improve the user experience. Despite the issues, the hardware performance is good for the price, and if they resolve the operational inefficiencies, I’d consider getting more servers from them.

    Summary

    • Pros: Excellent hardware performance and cost-effectiveness.
    • Cons: Poor control panel performance, complicated Windows installation process, and ineffective support.

Here is a YABS of the HT-Hosting:

    Uptime of Ubuntu Server:

    Experience with EvosHosting

EvosHosting has been more reliable in the short period I've used their servers. Although their support is slow, it is better than HT-Hosting’s. The control panel is more user-friendly and responsive. I’ve encountered minor issues, such as frequent Cloudflare verifications, but the overall performance of their servers (6 Core Intel Xeon E5-2699v4 and AMD 5950x) has been excellent. One of the owners is active on Discord, providing better communication and updates about outages compared to HT-Hosting. The Intel configuration is significantly poorer than the AMD configurations, so I regret choosing it over the 7950x3d.

PS: @EvosHosting if you want to give me a chance to get another one with the 7950, that would be appreciated.

    • Pros: Better control panel, good network and hardware performance, responsive owners.
    • Cons: Slow support, some language barriers.

Here are the YABS for both EvosHosting servers:
