Fiberstate - Important Maintenance Announcement
Hello,
As many of our customers are from LET, we are writing to inform the masses about a scheduled emergency maintenance activity that will take place this Thursday 7/4 18:00 MDT (7/5 00:00 UTC). To ensure the continued reliability and performance of our data center, we need to perform emergency maintenance on our critical power infrastructure. During this maintenance window, there will be approximately 30 minutes of downtime.
At the time stated below, we will gracefully power down your server. Once the maintenance is completed, we will boot them back up.
Date: 7/4 18:00 MDT, Utah (7/5 00:00 UTC)
Duration: Approximately 30 minutes
Reason: Replacement of failing equipment
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to replace this equipment and ensure that similar downtime will not occur in the future. Our team will work diligently to complete this task as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimize the impact on your services.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our support team via ticket in your customer portal.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
FiberState

It'll be quick while you watch fireworks
Our site and support portal will remain operational during this maintenance window. Please open a support ticket with any issues after this window has been posted as completed.
OMG
Well, that's a short window, is there no power redundancy is set in place for servers, or are they just all running A+B on single source AHK?
Some servers have dual PSU's and some do not, depends on the type and model. Not all segments of our data center will be impacted. However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure 100% reliability in the future, this maintenance window is absolutely necessary and being treated as a general notice for all services.
We will try to complete this as seamlessly as possible and ask all customers perform a graceful shutdown around five minutes before 7/4 18:00 MDT, Utah (7/5 00:00 UTC). If a machine is not shutdown at this time, our staff will perform a graceful shutdown and restore service once completed.
I would recommend to send this out per email as well, not every client is reading LET...
Ok, that was fast. One hour later I got an announcement by email.
@fiberstate please provide double downtime to provide the hard working servers a well deserved rest during the holiday
Double downtime promo expired
Reminder:
We ask all customers perform a graceful shutdown around five minutes before 18:00 MDT, Utah (7/5 00:00 UTC) today. If a machine is not shutdown at this time, our staff will perform a graceful shutdown and restore service once completed.
Maintenance is commencing in 8 minutes...
My FiberState servers been involucrated. ☠️☠️☠️
They will be finishing the maintenance,
This was a pretty inconvenient time for us ngl. I hope at least its coming back up asap, 4 minutes past schedule
.
One of my servers has been doing such a great job idling that I forgot I had it until I was notified that it also went down during this maintenance.
this is completed and all machines are back online. Please open a ticket if you see any issues. Thank you all for your patience!
Unfortunately there is no convenient time when you have customers all over the world. We planned it so UTC time was midnight, middle of the night for Europe, early for China, and a federal holiday for the US where most people are off today to limit impact. Everything is back up, please let us know if you questions or issues!
Please do this more often, we can make this a monthly celebratory holiday for the customers
Maintenance has been completed.
If you are unable to connect to your server(s), please check IPMI if that is not responding, please open a support ticket.
ChickenState monthly party
The server started up normally, congratulations.
But my VF panel caused the network to lose connection, fxxk!
BTW, is there any restocking plan for E3-1240?
Glad to see it's back up. We'll have more instant E3's restocked later this week.
